I just asked our landlords for a favor and they declined!! !

Could it be because I am Autistic?

Disability discrimination, perhaps?

This wasn't even the first time I asked for help from them but if they are going to be that way I will just stop doing favors for them!

That so-called "church" is a bunch of selfish conceited JERKS!

I want to become more independant and less reliant on other people for this very reason

What do you guys think?

What help did you ask for?

Having them stop at Burger King on the way to church for the SpongeBob meal among other things in the past but they keep saying the "we're busy, sorry" excuse EVERY SINGLE TIME!! !

Well, I'm sick of it!

At this point, I believe the "busy" excuse is just a cover-up for the REAL reason...discrimination

These same people also supposedly said that "ret*ds should never procreate" in response to me being pregnant although I don't have actual proof or evidence to support this

I was going to ask them to look at thrift shops next year for the Nintendo Switch VR Kit since it's too expensive to order from the Play Asia website but now I don't think I should so I need to come up with an alternate solution for obtaining that game...

In you landlord's defense, I don't think picking up a SpongeBob meal from Burger King is on the top of anyone's list of priorities. Why can't you pop by BK and get one for yourself on your own?

Also, did your landlord say that derogatory remark directly to you or did someone else overhear that?

When did you find out that you were pregnant? This is all news to me. I'm assuming your boyfriend is the father, right?

Because I can't drive but perhaps this will push me to learn?

The latter however I believe the person who originally said that about them must have heard it from somewhere!

Why would they lie about something like that?!?

I am 99.9% sure I really was but miscarried back in February so if I did actually give birth, David would have been the father!! !

I like burger King but its a bit of a stretch to ask your landlord or neighbours to help get one for you.

As for the derogatory comments, might be worth asking the person who told you to keep you in the loop about future comments.

It'll be worth looking into getting a driving licence too. Even something small like a little motorbike makes a world of difference. Don't take this the wrong way, but you seem highly dependant on others so request you make might be more limited in scope compared to someone who already has a car but just needs a lift from time to time. Things like learning to drive will help hugely, along with being more fun

Why do you seem to think your landlord or neighbors owe you these things? You're basically demanding charity and claiming it must be discrimination if your demands aren't met. Charity is voluntary.

I think Mikuro needs to see this from the landlords perspective. She's a 32 year old tenant sitting in his/her car requesting a stop off to Burger King for a SpongeBob Squarepants meal which many might consider unusual. I'm a landlord myself and finding myself in such a situation with a tenant would perplex me.

A lot of people, myself included, heavily restrict lifts for people with no driving licence because they can easily get out of hand and perhaps the landlord was worried about this.

I think it's important that Mikuro books some driving lessons and starts learning.

How are you unable to learn at your current address?

Being close to the dmv has nothing to do with learning to drive. And you'll likely need to bring a safe working vehicle when you do take a driving test.

Also, did you also expect your landlord (?!) to buy the meal? Agreeing to drive one to church or a single place is not the same as offering to take one to run errands.

It also may have to do with how you asked (or didn't) for the extra favor of stopping for (essentially) a toy.

Am sorry , you had these experiences . And perhaps later on? you may get more direct answers as to why these peoplw are , or have behaved this way , at this time. Maybe they are just busy people or distracted by dealing with some affairs, they might not have shared with you. :|. ...hard to know anothers persons mind?

My neighbor pays a delivery service to get their dinners.

No, I don't think that asking them to pick that up for you is a reasonable request.

If you don't have the balance for a bicycle you may want to consider getting a tricycle instead.

I don't think Trump is related to the thread.

From what I gather, you seem to be disappointed by the landlord in some way, but their refusal to help seems sensible to me.

There's a massive difference between giving lifts to a work colleague who's car has broken down for two weeks and stopping off at a fast food place ever other day on the way home from work, and a scenario like this involving a landlord and tenant with no driving licence.

OPs original post called her landlord a discriminatory jerk for not taking her to Burger King to pick up a children's menu (to paraphrase). I think it's safe to say that at 32 years of age......OP needs to learn to drive or she'll find herself genuinely stuck in her house for the foreseeable future with nobody willing to help her on future transport needs. I'm not being mean to OP, but if she was in my car, she would have found herself booted out pretty quickly.

One person with a car and driving licence doesn't entitle another person without a car or driving licence to enjoy the same benefits.
