Just curious about what kind of repetitive habits/behaviours you've all got (no matter if they've got anything to do with ASD or OCD or something else). I'll start by giving some examples of my own habits/behaviours:

- I listen to the same song hundreds and hundreds of times (on repeat) until I find a new song and do the same with that one.
- I have a tendency to watch movies I like over and over and over again (not necessarily on the same day).
- I use to solve my 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube over and over and over again. Pretty much every day.
- I always wear black jeans.
- I always walk the same way to places and cross the streets at the same places.
- I put on my clothes in the same order every day.
- I talk to myself a lot.
- I think about the same things every day.

Those are just a few examples. What about you?

EDIT: Also curious about the repetitive habits of you NTs out there :)

I also listen to the same song over and over again on repeat.
I watch the same TV shows over and over again.
I also put on my clothes in the same order.
When I'm in the shower I wash everything in the same order every day.
When I first go online in the morning I look at all my favourite websites in the same order.

I'm sure there are more, including many that I probably don't even realise I am doing.

I get totally stuck on albums. I will go weeks, sometimes months for a great new album/artist, listening to the same album over and over and over. When I'm not listening to the album, I usually have a song from it in my head. Lately it has been Mysterious Power by Ezra Furman and the Harpoons.

When nervous, I scroll up and down websites with no new content, not even really reading anything, just scrolling.

I used to be really bad about playing video games through the exact same way over and over. I played through the original pokemon gold with the same starter and at least similar parties (super impractical ice punch jynx was always my answer to Lance's dragonites) and the same phone numbers (this was a weirdly big deal--I got the numbers of people I liked and felt close to them when I only had school only friends) and the same "order of operations," if you will.

Also, having adult swim on the TV with my wife, even if we don't really watch it (get distracted talking or on the computer) is a nightly ritual that prepares my mind for bed.

EDIT: Once as a kid, my cousin and I watched some 20 or so minute Eddie Eagle gun safety video over a dozen times in one day. I'll never forget "Stop! Don't touch! Leave the area! Tell and adult!" or the hand motions that go with it. >_>

- Every day, I edit what I call the # file, which is just a record of how much time has passed since the occurrence of certain events in my life.
- I also talk to myself a lot. It's just how I think.
- When ever I travel places, I take the same routes always, but I don't go out very often.
- I eat the same food for breakfast every day, but every once in a while, I like to have something different.

Does this include habits/behaviors that I don't have anymore, but have had in the past?

- When I was younger, I used to watch movies that I liked over and over again, but haven't done that in a while. After I watched a movie that I liked enough times, I was able to play the whole thing in my head and it was like having my own private movie theater.

I keep logging on to WP. I'm not getting anything else done.

I watch the same movies and documentaries over and over. I get netflix so I have access to a lot of movies but but I keep going back to familiar ones that I like and I know are interesting.

I talk to myself too. Is that a repetitive thing?

I listen to the same music over and over.

I eat the same thing for breakfast every morning.

I wear the same kind of blue jeans every day.

I pace the floor and think the same thoughts over and over.

I don't have repetitive behaviors that I know of.

I have dressed basically the same since I was 13 or 14 (jeans or shorts and a plain blue, green or gray tee shirt with plain white sneakers or flip flops)

I always take a bath after a shower

I eat the same food from the same place day after day. When there, I will sit in the same seat and will have parked my car in the same space that I have determined is optimal, if it is available.

When stressed, I repeat certain phrases to myself. The phrase usually depends on the type of stress.

At work, I have certain patterns I follow that I have worked out for optimal efficiency.

I talk to myself almost non-stop, but since it is not stereotyped, I don't think it is important to this question.

I also find myself on this site WAY too much lately, but I do not have to do things in a particular order so I don't know if that counts either.

I have loads, many of them already mentioned, but the one thing that is commented on is when I am the computer. Here, at home I am on Firefox and tabs have to be in a certain order, a forum, facebook and finally the wildcard (WP is currently on the wildcard) and no more than 3 tabs can be open. At work it is 9 different programmes that have to opened in a certain order. I have a obsession with lists, everything needs to be listed. Everything I have has to be at a right angle or parallel to everything else. My house is very straight, even the mess :D One of my co-workers find it hilarious to watch me straighten my desk at the beggining of every working week.

I don't think I have any. I try to sit in the same seat every day on the bus (except for today, I wanted to sit the other side so I can look at a building that had burnt down a couple of days ago). But this might be due to my obsession with the bus-drivers - I like to sit on the driver's side of the bus so that I can see the other driver better when coming past in the other bus.

I sometimes get on at different bus stops, so that won't count. I do get bored with listening to the same song over and over. I used to do it, but that was when I had CDs and my favourite song was on a CD what no other songs I liked was on so I just left it on repeat to save me from keep getting up and changing the CD every 3 minutes. If I knew a lot of songs on the same CD then I would just go through all of them.

I don't think I have any repetitive behaviours to speak of.

I definitely will re-listen to a particular riff or vocal melody that struck me as interesting in a song, over and over for a few days before moving on; it's like a craving.
Like most of you, I assume, I'm totally obsessed with right angles and the placement of objects. I worked at a car parts warehouse for two summers a few years ago and seeing all the misaligned boxes was absolute hell.
There's a lot more but I feel like they're just manifestations of OCD; can't touch soft things, refuse to wear anything that fits even remotely tightly around my waist, picky eater, etc. I mean, I have no idea if I have Asperger's, legitimately but it's cool seeing other people with similar rituals/patterns.

Well, now that you mention it... :-)

Oh gawd I can't believe I forgot about my shower routine. I shower in exactly the same way every day. Brands can come and go, but the order of operations is necessary to insure I don't forget anything and can feel clean after I get out. The only time it varies is when I've done something to get dirty enough that I feel the need to repeat a portion of the process.

I like to listen to the same album, most often my own electronic ambient stuff once or twice a day
I like to stand on one leg when locking the front door or spin around, this is so i can say later 'i know I locked the door as I stood on one leg'
I wear the same clothes a lot, I don't have many, but I keep clean
I have a favourite seat on the tram, front row left hand side facing forward = panoramic views ;)
A few years ago I had a support worker and I insisted on meeting in the same cafe every week, same day and time and usually the same seats unless they were taken
I like to lock my bike in the same places/same rack

I'm not sure if some of the things that are listed by others here, can be associated with Autism or Aspergers, but mine definitely is.

1. I Stim.
2. I have the same routine when I cook everyday and I get really upset if just one little thing goes wrong.
3. I have face tics.
4. I collect data and make lists.
5. I wear a certain kind of leather shoe all the time. Will not wear anything else.
6. Fixated on certain objects.
7. I walk from side to side which I never mentioned before.
8. I have to admit that I talk to myself which I never mentioned before except in childhood. But, my talk is a very low whisper rather than talking out loud unless I'm cursing like a sailer.

I'm becoming more and more aware of my traits realizing that I have quite a few. Some of these traits are quite mild and that is why I didn't really realize them before.

I'm not sure if being antisocial and my other traits would be considered repetitive or not though they are ongoing.

I listen to the same playlist every day, and I have had the same track stuck in my head for the last couple of months, it's driving me a bit mad now.

The current song stuck in my head is OMD's Souvenir, the previous song stuck in my head was Dave Brubeck's, Take Five.

Neither track are even on my playlist!
