It is quite obvious from my post above that Aspergers Syndrome and Autism are totally separate conditions how anybody could think they are linked is a mystery to me. ![]()
I can understand why some of the people with AS that function quite well beyond some social difficulties do not like thinking of them as the same thing. Except I for one have suffered immensely far beyond socially because of my autism for how "high functioning" it is and it would be a huge disadvantage for me if they were widely accepted as being different from one another.

Yup. Same old "How dare those Aspie elitists acknowledge some people with classic Autism make them feel unsafe. We'll teach them to want to be separate from Autistic people who lack an understanding of boundaries by makng them fall under Autism in the DSM!" Yes because PTSD from being harassed by peope with Autism in support groups is sooo funny. Haha begging for help and only being able to get simplified help because now you're Autistic and need to be treated like a 4 year old, hilarious!

It may surprise you I work full time and this forum has been very helpful to me.
I have never been in a relationship but there are people on here who are married with children.
The mix of people on here is great and we can all learn from each other.
We all have different strengths and weaknesses a person like me is not going to be of much use in a thread dealing with relationships for example.
Some people with autism may come across like a four year old as you put it but reading their posts here I can see that this is largely due to difficulties in communication.
Those of us on the Aspie part of the spectrum can appear rude creepy or odd to other people again this is down to our bad interaction with others.
I find it nearly impossible to tell were people lie on the spectrum here unless they tell us.
Again it is what you want help with ask the right questions and the people on the spectrum who are having similar problems are the ones likely to respond to you.
And one has more letters.

Somehow I just don't think any of this was implied in the OP so not sure where you got all that from....who's saying PTSD is funny or harassment is ok? Also autism is a spectrum if people asssume you should be treated like a 4 year old because of having aspergers/autism then they are an idiot.....

...i see.
So, this should probably stop now.
I'm new here, but I don't much like how you have been kind of spewing venom that really is clearly meant for other people in a variety of directions, VioletYoshi.
I understand that you have been hurt, are angry, have been in positions where you have felt unsafe. That is all understandable. The issue that is now arising is that you seem to be taking out this anger for other people, which have developed from these completely unrelated situations, out on individuals who have zero to do with those other situations.
You speak of feeling unsafe, etc.
I am going to tell you right NOW: I was having a good old time here, despite being one of the new kids, feeling pretty accepted even after maybe coming off a little unreasonable [after I realized maybe to stay away from the chat haha].
I was, that is, until I started coming upon all these accusations you have been writing of men on the spectrum being unsafe or possibly predatory, the suggestion that this is a similar place, etc etc. And let me be clear about this: the discomfort created by those things is not that I feel what you are saying is true, either about men [or anyone] on the spectrum as a whole, nor about WP. It's that you are inserting all this fear and negativity into a place where you claim you do not feel safe. You say you do not want to engage with or socialize with men on the spectrum, yet you continue to do so.
You use the example of a television show as evidence that you are aware of signs of an abusive relationship- I have firsthand experience, and shared that. You choose not to continue that discussion and maybe take my offer of support. Instead you come here and make really nasty comments.
This is making ME feel unsafe. YOU are making me feel unsafe.
I am going to disengage from communicating with you at this point and likely direct a moderator to this situation. But to be clear: I am really unhappy with the way you are saying you are seeking support. It seems to be causing harm, not only to me- which is why I said anything at all.
[But hey, maybe it doesn't matter much what I say]
Please consider whether some other tact on your behalf might prove more beneficial.

I think this was meant as a light thread pointing to commonalities.
Please try to understand that people here are generally trying to be supportive of each other if given a chance. I understand you've had difficulty with certain individuals some of them autistic, though it sounds like the allegedly NT people who you wanted to listen to you may have been tough to deal with. Having autism doesn't make a person aggressive, nor does having Aspergers. Though some people with these labels are. Please don't mix the aggression up with the label. You are safer if you label the aggression the problem and can watch for it than if you're watching out for neuroatypicality. And honestly my experience of men and women with Aspergers has not been that they are somehow better or kinder.
I am not sure why, but I suspect you will not like what I've written and may even saying I am attacking you. That isn't my intent and I'm not trying to minimize what you've been through. Just saying that I disagree with your reasoning and the outcome you come to and have gotten a lot from people identifying as autistic. The number of people on WrongPlanet is greater, you may find a different mindset than what you're used to here. I would suggest staying away from Love and Dating forum though. That forum does have more harshness happen than the others. And you seem like you use some peace.

Correct that was the idea.
