I definately like. It is cute and nice for me and I like to use it.

I dislike it and never use it. It's kinda embarrassing.

I like the nickname. That's just me though.

Definitely no. I think it's too cutesy in general. I'm autistic. I was diagnosed autistic and autistic is the word I prefer.

Personally I like it, it has a nice ring to it - but it's very much a case of self-definition. I wouldn't refer to someone as an 'Aspie' unless they themselves were comfortable with it (and a lot of people with Asperger's Syndrome are comfortable with this term).
It's up to people with ASD to define who they are, to live out and celebrate their uniqueness. Neurotypicals have no say in the matter.

It sounded silly the first week after I heard it but I have grown to love it. Unfortunately the name and Aspergers Syndrome in general has been successfully tarnished both outside and inside the Autistic community to mean excuse maker, faker, elitist that does not want associate with low functioning Autistics, 160+ IQ etc. What a shame for something that was so positive for many of us at one time not long ago.

I don't like. I don't have much of a reason for disliking it, but I don't nonetheless.

I always sounds derogatory to me. I don't see why anyone would willingly place that label upon themselves.

It's kind of a moot point for me because if I get a diagnosis now it will simply be ASD, so there's no good reason to separate myself based on what kind of autistic I am. But it's the only casual-sounding identity word for someone with Asperger's, so I understand why someone would want to use it if they're used to considering that part of their identity.

I was recently hanging out with two of my autistic friends and we spent most of the time making juvenile jokes about the word "aspieness" (i.e. "hopefully reading this will help me get a firm grasp on my aspieness"), so it is good for that.

No contest. Saying the two syllable "aspie" is far better than having to say the six syllable "person with aspergers".

Needless to say it also preferable to "person with ass-burgers".

It's okay.
