The blogs were posted under the heading: "Do I have Asperger's? Does it matter?"

He wrote: "I was always considered talented and gifted in school, but I struggled socially (many people felt I was mute), and I have never been in a real relationship in my life despite my above average physical attractiveness."

Peterson was also posting comments on another site, blaming the acne drug Accutane - prescribed by Cornbleet - for making him impotent.

Why scary? So a crazy person posted here. Oh well. I'm guessing it happens on a lot of websites. I think the more important question is... is a reporter going to come knocking? How would you/we deal with that?

Murder rates in the US are about 5.6 /100000. So with WP having
perhaps 13314 *1/2(remove non US and redundant accounts)= 6000 US members. (100000/6000)/5.6 = 3 times the national murder rate(falsely assuming murders roughly = murdered).

But males and young are for more likely to murder to. That might suggest WP's offical murder rate is closer to the national average.

Thats two more offical murders then. But WP has been in operation 3 years and murder rates are annual figures. So that works out to one a year. Granted the membership was alot smaller the first two years.

there seems to be alot of killers on this site. i dont think ive posted on any other forums with so many, first that one dude a few years ago now this guy :lol:

Thats because screwed up people are more inclined to show up here, and this is a large site. It would happen anyway, whether or not they posted here.

I don't think it really paints that bad of an image of people with Asperger's. The media has never really done much to causatively link Asperger's to killing. It's been mentioned in passing. The worst example I saw was Geraldo. The fact that it was on Geraldo means it's probably wrong anyway... And the media does do stories on extraordinarily gifted people with Asperger's.

Just by mentioning that a killer was caucasian, it doesn't make people think white people are all killers.

hmm... i always wondered why there werent any.

all of those fancy yellow-press-worthy murder cases (video game players and the like) almost always dealt with a person who was so desperate about life to a) not know any solution and b) not caring anymore. that erfurt murder was one such case, the trenchcoatmafia thing in littleton was similar.

a lot of us do encounter very problematic situations in life, and often on a very broadband scale that cant be as easily escaped. most people can cope somehow, a few dont.

That may be the case but still, it's not something that we should be so non-chalant about and push off like it's nothing... negative media does affect our image as Aspies. Just because one person posted here does a bad thing and all, doesn't mean we all are and the media doesn't give a darn about that.
