If you decide - or are already using FF and a FF forks like Libre Wolf or Pale Moon (still supporting windows 7) you can use my settings to limit/tame Javascript. Here they are:
user_pref("javascript.options.baselinejit", false);
user_pref("javascript.options.discardSystemSource", true);
user_pref("javascript.options.wasm", false);
