Semantic Pragmatic Disorder. One of those that come under PDD-NOS. It's like NLD is to AS [as SPD is to HFA/LFA].

Though after seeing him today (my nephew), I think his social deficits are a little more severe than SPD.

What does semantic pragmatic disorder entail?

My younger sister is for all practical purposes NT...but she has issues.
She always had issues with rage...and with eating foods that were as plain as possible...and would eat the same things over and over again. The thing that makes her NT is that she um...gets along with ease in social situations, is/was obsessed with conformity..was a bit of a bully when we were growing up...She was always in a state of outrage and disgust over everything I did.
She developed in an overall more normal fashion mentally and physically. She managed to bond and form friendships with all my cousins while I never did...and in talking to them briefly, I always manage to freak them out with my weirdness...I think..

I am pretty sure she is NT...but I don't know her so well...and she did come from my parents..and spectrum stuff exists on both sides of the family.

The speech problems of HFA/LFA (semantics and pragmatics; poor/delayed speech and echolalia in other words, and not understanding the meaning of speech in many ways), but without the marked deficits in reciprocal social interaction as is seen in those two (not as bad as AS in regards to social interaction either). There's deficits in social interaction, as well as other autistic symptoms (more in line with HFA/LFA than AS, like resistance to change and needing a strong routine), but they're relatively mild compared to the same in HFA/LFA.

Just another disorder that makes up "ASDs"; it's the counterpart to NLD just as AS is the counterpart to HFA/LFA.

I hope you don't mind me asking this: You know a lot about ASDs - do you know where I could find out about things like SPD that are autistic spectrum but not AS or autism?
I want to know because I have ASD characteristics but not AS or autism. I doubt there is a catagory for me (I'm probably just 'not quite AS') but I might as well try looking.
