No, I don't watch sports. Some sports are fun to play (although I don't like the majority of sports) but watching them can be boring.

i neither watch nor participate in sports.

i have absolutely no interest in any type of sport.
i do not know why everyone is so affected by it.
i am annoyed that there is so much sport on TV, and that it is all that the bulk of people really care about outside their jobs and family.

today(sunday) i felt a bit sick and it was cold and i wanted to stay in bed. my TV in my bedroom is not cable TV, but "free to air" TV. we have 6 free to air channels in sydney. nearly every one of them had sport on all day, and the ones that did not had "songs of priase" type religious rubbish or art programs where they talk about paintings and stuff.

sports stars are treated like heroes and there is so much adulation of them that it bewilders me as to what goes through the heads of their fans.
what is it that empassions people about "teams" and players? why are they so happy when their chosen team wins? is it because they feel proud they picked the right side to go for? or is it some sort of hero worship or something?
i have no idea, but most of the society that i have to live in is saturated by sports related things.

when i go to the tavern for dinner and there is a "grand final" on, there is unexpectedly a lot of people cramming the tavern and all yelling at the TV. they are so loud that i can not stay to have dinner and i must go.

there is one thing i just remembered that i like to watch that may qualify as a sport, but there is almost no footage of it. it is races between average unmodified production cars.

in australia we had a car race that was called the "bathurst 500". it was before my time, but i have seen footage of it. it was a race between unmodified production cars that are the same as the ones sold to the public.
it is so interesting to see what average production cars were capable of. like they had ford cars (falcons) that were 351 V8's and their suspension and engine was stock standard. they were just falcon GT's that could be sold to anyone.
they also had GM cars like holden monaro's and other cars by chrysler etc.

i liked to see the severe body roll as the cars went at almost suicidal speeds around the circuit.

these days, the cars are so heavily modified that they not cars that anyone can buy, and they are just not interesting to me.

sorry about the length of my post.

Yes! These are my sports too! Love the ToC in my backyard--I got to see both Super Mario and LA race after they had "retired" and each spring see the San Dimas stage race in my backyard. Have volunteered several times at Kona IM. And, yes, despite being a runner myself, not particularly interested in watching running, unless a friend is involved. Not at all interested in watching just about anything else, even stuff I do.

watch sport....english football/premiership or fa,only when its on terrestrial or FTA digital as got rid of sky sports a long time ago.
american football.
Horse events,not racing.
Not hardcore about them and as an arsenal supporter, have been sat in a room watching arsenal v manchester united play with a bunch of united supporting residents/staff,they sit there shouting swear words at the players and ref,as if they are going to hear it through the tv?

Im one of those who voted never or almost never
I find it poitless and restless and cant see and understand the excitement in it.
Before YouTube came I could like to see some certain sports like gymnastics just to wait for a funny blunder to turn up
but that was only moments when I was restless or too tired to do something else which was rarely
But now I dont waste my time on such stuff when I can search what I want to see online and on demand

No offense, but that is the biggest thing I hate about Louisiana. The Saints are second. Everyone seems to think that just because you live in Louisiana, you MUST be interested in football, especially LSU football. It's even bad up here in The Shreve. Everyone's got to be an LSU fan, honestly I think it's more because it's the "in" thing to do than anything else. UGH. To my co-workers, whenever I tell them I don't give a crap about LSU it's like telling them that I don't give a crap about religion (which is also true). As if I weren't foreign enough to them...

Oh cool! Do you ride a lot?

I was supposed be down in Sacramento this past February to see the prolog timetrial! I had a room reserved and my bags all packed and ready by the front door.... and a foot of snow fell on I-5 on the OR/CA border the night before my drive! I was soooo bummed. Next year I'll just fly into Sac early in the morning and fly back home in the evening.

My NT brother is very into sports. I'm not, though if I'm at home and he's watching a game, I generally watch as well. I know all of the rules of football (American), hockey, baseball, etc. but don't really delight in following statistics or teams.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, and almost everyone is into sports. It's sort of a mania. I remember in the 90s when the Penguins won the Stanley Cup in back-to-back years. You couldn't go anywhere without someone talking about the Pens. It was fun.

I heard that they just won the Stanley Cup again this year. My wife told me a few days ago, and I thought, "Oh, that's nice. My brother will be happy." That was about all that news did for me.
