You have be really careful here about generalizing. Many who are autistic actually do enjoy the company of other people. What you describe sounds more like SPD. (Note I'm not saying you aren't autistic; the two often can co-exist.)
In regards to if autistics are crazy, I am reminded of the Shakespearean fool. The fool was the sanest and most honest of the bunch, and everyone else was pretty nutty.
Chief, maybe you are just going through a rough patch. You obviously want to make some kind of contact with the world outside of you and enjoy some amount of social interaction or you wouldn't have made your way to Wrong Planet. And also, maybe, because you are so isolated and Autism is not well known where you are you are experiencing prejudice and bad treatment that is not as prevalent in places where autism is better known and understood.
Fiddler, That's a great comparison. Also and kind of similar would be the Hans Christian Anderson story of The Emperor's New Clothes. Anderson is suspected by Michael Fitzgerald of being on the spectrum. Maybe Shakespeare was too.
