I can see how it is possible. Yes, most of us are pretty introverted by nature... in my personal experience though, my boyfriend is even less social than I am, and I hardly talk to anybody ever! It's hard to believe and makes little sense to me, lol, but it is true.

Then again, I'm kind of forced to at least be a little bit more social. I didn't say I'm good at it, but I try. With a kiddo in elementary school, I do have to talk to other parents at times-his friends' parents usually. My neighbor once said to me, "I thought you were supposed to be the one who stayed inside like a hermit and didn't talk to people." Apparently my bf never says hi back to her when he is coming to my house or anything. He just looks over, might wave, but that is it.

There's a great example in the BBC documentary Autistic Me, one of the guys they follow is very extrovert, loves getting out and about talking to folk loved being at work very cheerful etc

I seen that when it was on, is it Ollie the one you're talking about?
Out of all 3 of them I see myself as more like Alex (the last one they showed)

Yeah that's the one, even though he was extraverted he still had a meltdown when his routine was changed along with all the other aspie traits.

But aren't Aspies introverted by nature?

No more so than other people can be. An uncle of mine (mother's older brother) definately had AS (though was never diagnosed prior to his passing) and was extremely extroverted (as far as being able to talk to others) but im and heavily introverted. Regardless of which one you are, AS mainly tends towards social awkwardness, not extro/introversion.

The first impression most people get of me is that I'm a very confident woman. Sometimes this is because I talk a lot when I'm nervous, to the point where I am inwardly cringing at how talkative I am being, and sometimes this is because I'm faking it, putting on an act to fulfill expectations. I rarely show my anxiety or confusion in my interactions with people as I feel it would be the ultimate social faux pas and that scares the hell out of me.

I am extroverted.

Though in childhood I was quiet a lot of the time because when I spoke what i said sounded pretty weird, even to me. When I did talk I was blunt and outspoken.

Now in adulthood I tell long stories... My anxiety is also higher now so I am hyped up and that makes me talk even more. But Ive always liked having friends, Ive just never been good at making them.
