Do you have no interest in house chores?

I was neeeeever into house chores when I lived at my parents' house. XD; And even when I moved out, it took me a while to get into it. But once I realized it was way nicer to live in a clean house, I just kind of worked the chores into the regular stuff I do every day. I think that's how it has to be done. I never set aside time for cleaning, ew. I just clean here and there during downtime, (like maybe clean a couple dishes while waiting for the microwave) and it works really well and I even enjoy it.

i enjoy a clean house, i despise cleaning it. i discovered it is easier for me to maintain a tidy household if i break up the jobs into sections. like the dishes, i will wash the plates, then do something i like, then later wash the cutlery, then do something i like...etc etc.

same with sweeping the floor, do one room, stop for awhile, do another, then stop. it is not very efficient but it also doesn't make me feel like i'm going to self-combust.

House chores are generally too boring for me. I seem to need a spark of fascination with a task before I can get off my butt and make a start.

But just like everybody else, if I don't do the chores, nobody else will. So I compromise - the most important chores get done (with the absolute minimum of fuss and bother), and I try to arrange my life in a way that doesn't create a lot of chores. I don't cook, and if I use a plate, more often than not it'll be a disposable one. It never ceases to amaze me how much work people are prepared to create for themselves with their cookery - sure, it's nice, but for me it's rarely worth the pain of clearing it all away afterwards. It's a good feeling to deviate from the norm in a way that gives me fewer boring things in my life.

One saving grace is that once I've started doing anything - chores or not - I can't easily stop until I've completed the mission. The only things I've given up on are to do with organising my stuff, it just gets so complicated that I can't work out what to do. And even with that, I haven't given up for good. I'm always hoping to find some way of getting my possessions organised properly, and in the meantime I cope by picking a small area of the job and just doing that, e.g. right now I'm sorting out all the old photographs I've taken over the years, creating an archive with digitised copies and all the known dates, names and places that the photos are about. There must be at least 2000 pictures, but the job is fairly clear-cut, so it's getting done. I find it very helpful to apply firm limits to the task I take on, otherwise I tend to expand it until I'm trying to tidy up the whole universe.

I don't really like the idea of cleaning, but it doesn't bother me once I get going.

Besides, one has to clean anyway, lest they get cockroaches.

Move to Norway or another nothern country; no roaches here!

House chores are overated.

I don't notice much about dust and whatnot. I'm also a procrastinator and rather slow about things, but eventually I catch up with cleaning, but it alway gets away from me in the end.

I bet ot of people hate house chores but do them anyway or else their place gets messier and messier. That's why rich folks hire maids because they can afford to be lazy and still have a clean place.

I never used to be able to clean. Part of it was that I never knew where to start. But I was also never able to keep things clean that were already clean!

Recently, though, between the FLYlady, and a few threads on here, I've started to get into it. The house is looking WAY better. I also went through amazon.com and ordered some subscriptions to housekeeping type magazines and stuff. It's like it is with everything else for me: I need obsession in order to get things done.
