Contrary to popular belief, some siblings are just a**holes and there isn't much to be done about it. My adoptive older brother = prick.
My biological older sister and I are very close, and my younger half brother might think of me the way I think of my older brother.
Sometimes family is just mean.

My sister is also cruel to me but my mum doesn't believe me. She thinks I should tolerate her. My sister doesn't make fun of Aspergers, she is 25, so that probably explains why she doesn't. She does say things like 'you've got a weird brain' or when talking about Craig Nicholls from The Vines she said "I knew there was something wrong with him."
But it's just weird to me, she is a complete a-hole to me but everyone thinks she's sweet. The old lady you help might think the same thing of your sister - she can only see the sweet and not the cruel.

Have you tried to talk to her in private. When people dont understand something they tend to shun whatever it is. When i first heard i may have aspergers i freaked ( I was a late one diagnosed at 18 ) i thought it would make me diffrent but now i realise its helped me find the real me i understand myself better. so when your alone try talk to her tell her how you feel. Let her no you may be diffrent but your you and still her little sister
Or just slap her across the face next time she hugs you.
She deserves one if you ask me - she really really really shouldn't be deliberately causing you to overload. That's akin to assault.
And you should definitely go talk to an adult you trust, a teacher or someone - she shouldn't be allowed to continue treating you like that.

Me and my sister are close to this elderly woman at our church. I go to church every Sunday, and walk this woman up the stairs. I go to my confirmation classes, and act polite around her. My sister rarely comes to church, dropped out of confirmation, and never pays her back the money she owes. Yet, the Woman likes my sister better. She goes on about how much "happiness" my sister brings to her life and what not, while she gives me a lecture on my poor eye contact, even though I have cared for her more then my sister, But I guess I am not cute or friendly enough for her. I really really try my best to work on this, but it is so hard. I feel really cheated, and disliked. I always feel disliked.
I am also really mad at my sister because of the way she handles Aspergers. At school, she'll tell her friends and people around, right in front of me "My sister can't love people. She has Aspergers". She also tries to hug me in public and shouts "Aspergers", not because she wants affection, but simply to display in front of her friends how much I hate contact, which sometimes sends me into a panic. In other words, she does this for the sake of being cruel.
I've also found a video lingering on my computer of her asking where I got a gift card and I told her "My friend" and she replies "What friends, you have Aspergers, you do have friends" - displaying her lacking of understanding.
I am very very mad at her right now. Sorry. I just need to vent.
She'll make this disgusted face and say "Oh you have Aspergers" like its repulsive.
I'm sorry to read that, Elementary_Physics. It sounds outright mean to me.
She says that you can't love people because of AS, but would she really call her own acting an act out of ability to love?
Sorry... just wondering.
Another example how those "other people" NTs claim they empathize with, love, understand the minds of, etc. in fact often are a kind of selective group of "other people".....
I think she is jealous, dear one.......

That sucks! I want to tell you she'll grow out of it and stop being nasty, but sometimes people don't, so I don't know what to say. D: Is she smart? She MIGHT grow out of it if she's smart enough to overcome her pettiness. But you have to be smart too.. don't let your bad feelings towards her turn you into something nasty. Look at yourself like a character in a book, and think of what a good character would do. That's what helps me in situations like this..

My sister treated me the same way growing up. She always treated me like I was a lower class citizen and was a firm believer in the saying "My way or the highway". She also used to like saying I was always wrong and didn't know anything. At one point, she even tried to ban me from talking.
Our parents also favored her over me for a long time. For one thing, she played an instrument and I didn't. She liked to read for many hours a day, and I didn't. In school, we both actually did well until my parents decided she and I should always go to the same school, so they moved me out my all boys school into her school, then I started not doing as well as I had in the past.
My sister always had an easy time making friends and I didn't, and the few times I did, if they'd come by the house, she would steal them from me, then they'd push me aside to be her friends and not mine. We both went to multiple schools, even the same ones at times and she never got picked on, yet I did. Something else they held against me.
For many years, my parents tried to force everything she did down my throat. There were times I just wanted to stay in but because of her, that wasn't possible. I was forced into a swimming pool daily, sometimes multiple times a day, when she decided to go. I never was interested in swimming, yet our parents would say I had to do it and like it because "everybody swims" and "everybody likes swimming."
I also got dragged to numerous football games and parades to watch her play in the band. Sometimes they'd ask me if I'd want to go and of course I'd say no and think everything was fine at that point, then when it was time to go they'd yell at me, often in front of her friends, for my not being ready to go, which generated a big laugh from everyone.
It even went on when I was in college. Our parents said I could live at home and go to school and my sister was going out of state to graduate school so she wouldn't bother me anymore. She decided not to go and kept taking courses because she wanted to go to medical school. Of course, the new thing was if she wanted to go somewhere, I had to go with her "for support" because she didn't like going places by herself. As a result, I was dragged to college football games, parties with people I neither knew nor liked, to the mall, and numerous other place because our parents believed if I didn't go with her everywhere she wanted me to, it would mean I didn't support her and she wouldn't get into medical school. It even got to the point where she would accept invitations for me without even asking me.
For a long time, I felt like I had 3 parents, Mom, Dad, and Sister. The only thing that has solved any of this nonsense is to separate from her and try to live my own life. I tried this in the past but our parents were determined to fuse us together into one person. Hopefully, your parents will not try to do that to you. Try separating yourself from her, and that can be done even if you still live in the same house, as long as the parents don't intervene as mine did.
They just won't let us be.
