i either not look (poor eye contact) or i stare. i know that myself but sometimes i can't help staring because i am fixated on one thing or another about that person. i have to remind myself to blink and look away...i can do that but only with conscious effort.

I sometimes cannot stop staring at people (when I'm directly not talking to them or they aren't talking to me), sometimes I get really drawn to one part of them or one thing they're doing and just stare and stare. They often look back at me because they've noticed then I turn away and realise what I've been doing. Then as soon as they're looking away it starts all over again.
If I'm talking to someone I might stare at one part of them that isn't the eyes, I'll be drawn to something like their tie or trousers or chest (not in a pervy way).

I could tell you if I knew the difference between staring and looking. I think I stare at everything but no has told me I have since middle school.

I stare at people when I'm feeling particularly affectionate towards them. When people ask me why I'm staring at them, I reply: "I stare because I care."

However, I've noticed that I'm doing this less than I used to.

I don't really stare at people as much as I according to others just stare in general. I suspect that's what it looks like when I don't really turn visual processing on.

I'd just stare at her boobs then ask her if she fancies a quickie. :P No guilt on my part. :D

I do it all the time. In school it came in handy when people thought I was staring at them intentionally. That made up a bit for all the times they were mean to me.

I find myself staring very often. I think I stare at people more than I stare at things but I'm not quite sure. I see something interesting on someone like a cool tattoo or piercing or the pattern of clothes or a hairstyle and I can't stop myself from staring. A few years ago when I was going to college I would take the light rail and I would always find someone on the train that I found attractive or odd looking or just something caught my eye and I would stare until I thought that they noticed my stare. I would spend an equal amount of time staring at advertisements or maps or other things. I sometimes get strange looks or stares in return for my staring. If I get bored or I have to wait somewhere with a lot of people I just zone out and stare.
