I got this from Dad alot.

I watch Teletubbies and Arthur and Rugrats
and he thinks I shood be watching the phricken
News???Does he not remember what happend
10 years before that? When I was nasty and
worse tempered than before?

I was able to switch to a science nerd type
show that I also like whilst dad was there
and as soon as he left and that show as over,
it was back to Teletubbies.

I never got told to watch something for adults. If they did I would ask them "What shows for adults?", because most of the prime-time offerings on tv have no appeal to me. If any adult tells me to watch something for adults without any suggestions, I would ask them "What do want me to watch?" or "What do you watch on TV?"

If any adult tells you that, ask them those two questions.

And if they say "Dancing with the Stars" or "American Idol" you can look down you nose at them. There is a lot of crap on TV nowadays, and I just don't think ANYONE has room to judge anyone else.

i was childish in my preteens. i only read enid blyton, fantasy and mystery stories (not agatha christie yet). my mum said "you should read little women" but i hated anything boring that was mainly relationship, seeking plot and analysis instead. Later at age 15-17 i read classics i didn't understand, because i wanted to learn to write well and i found modern lit boring. i was then considered an advanced reader. it was at this age i discovered darwin.

recently i told a friend i read classics and fantasy, and she told me to read chick lit e.g. sophie kinsella. i pretended to agree with her, picked up the books and later dumped them back in their shelf. in fact come to think of it my mum used to hag me for liking fantasy: "you should be reading REAL stuff." what she didn't appreciate was that real stuff is not always real, and it is boring and unintellectual. fantasy at least is creative even if it is unintellectual.

TOTALLY. They keep crap like that yet cancel great shows like Veronica Mars, Firefly, Moonlight, and Pushing Daisies.

My mum caught me watching Sesamee Street, the day before my 19th Birthday. She asked me, "You're turning 19, tomorrow and you're watching Sesamee Street?"

I've always perfered animated movies to live action ones. Most live action movies are almost always about people and boring. Very rarely does an animal in a live action movie talk. I hated the live action 101 Dalmations because they did not talk. Lion King will always be number two on my list of special intrests no matter how old I get. Titan A.E. is animated but was never really intended as a movie for little kids. The target audience was actualy teenagers. Thankfully it never caught on. Adult fictional shows are about people and insanley boring. I would rather put a gun to my head than sit down and watch Desperte Housewives or House.

I'm the opposite, I'm nearly 15 but I prefer adult stuff. Things aimed at teenagers mostly seem boring and pathetic to me. I don't even like to wear the same clothes as "normal" teenagers. I had a conversation with a girl at my school at the bus stop when I was on work experience, I was wearing a grey blazer, white shirt and black pencil skirt, and she was like, "Why are you dressed like that?" and I said, "I'm on work experience with the council," and she said, "And they made you dress like that?" and I said, "No, I chose to dress like this" (I liked the idea of dressing like an adult, so I took the opportunity to buy some really smart-looking clothes). She was all, "Why?" and I said, "I don't really know", and she said, "I am dressed like a normal teenager" (she was wearing a hoodie and jeans). I only wear a hoodie and jeans when I really can't be bothered. Most of the time I prefer to dress more like someone in their twenties.

If you have seen one episode of House you have basically seen them all. They all have the same formulaic scenario : person gets really sick with something weird and gross. Doctors solve it, another horrible and gross symptom appears, doctors start testing while House and his boss play the little cat and mouse game and everyone reveals personal things along the way. A treatment is discovered and seems to work, only to unearth yet another weird and gross symptom, which brings House to unearth some personal secret of the patient's that solves the mystery of the illness right when they are about to die.

I am actually not that good in seeing patterns in something that complex, as I see all episodes as new and completely different from every other.

I used to watch Pingu all the time. Eventually, aged 14 I 'grew up' and watched Futurama. Futurama is an adult cartoon (although tame in comparison to South Park!), however my peers still said it was a baby programme... I can't blooming win. Now I watch South Park more than Futurama. You can't possibly say that SP is for kids!

P.S When I am very sad or stressed, Pingu makes a reapearrance!
