I am NT and I sure as heck do!
I even have "fantasy conversations" in my mind where I am arguing with people. I think it is common among intelligent people (IQ 152 here). Other smart people I have talked to have said the same thing.
I've noticed this as well - I play what I like to call 'psychological chess' with myself, where I argue/discuss something with a fictious 'opponent'. Most of my thoughts which has to do with feelings, future plans or other people take the form of a 'dialogue' - though it's usually only 1 'character' wording himself - (me), whilst the other has more of a listening function. This way, I sort of act as my own therapist. As crazy as it may sound, it's a great way of processing emotions and thoughts. I think think this way of thinking is most common among people who are verbal as opposed to visual, also it's more common amongst introverts who use intuition and for those who are analytical (like INXX, but INTJ and INTP in particular). I'm not as smart as you ( 135-140 IQ), but I do think this is something intelligent people may have in common, as they're often very analytical, and capable of understanding themselves without the intervention of others. Besides, for extremely intelligent people like Einstein, Newton etc, others may appear 'slow', so these 'dialogues' often work as a substitute for social interaction.
