I don't think everyone with AS is super nice. Where is that impression coming from? We generally have less of a tolerance for human stupidity and clique-mindedness. We don't understand subliminal social cues so we act however we want to. This seems quite nice to me but not to the NT population. I'd actually be curious about Hitler here. Do you think he understood social cues? He obviously had extreme fixated interests. It would make sense that being bullied lead him to becoming a genocidal maniac. Just look at what bullying did to the Columbine shooters. (both rumored to have AS) I don't see why everyone is automatically assuming Hitler didn't have it simply because he was a fascist dictator. He was a vegetarian too.

Hitler seemed to enjoy mass gatherings.... not very aspie like, he was a shrewd manipulator which means overaverage ToM skills, shall I continue? Not all raging psychopaths with a flat and monotonous voice are autists

Besides, there is no real way of finding out so what is the point speculating about this?

Fascism is pretty easy. It gives clear, black-and-white rules.

I'm pretty sure Hitler is dead, so he doesn't have AS or anything else. :P

I had a friend who had a friend with some severe type of autism who was obsessed with WWII and its events/tactics. In researching Hitler, he found out the guy had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and he made the mistake of taking arsenic for it. The arsenic is what caused his blatant insanity . . . and remember, there is a thin line between madness and brilliance (thank the powers those in the spectrum can be brilliant without being mad   ).

Elvis Hitler!

I know lots of Aspie's obsessed with WWII and I just asked them their opinion on whether Hitler had it or not. We shall see. I'm gonna go with a "maybe" right now. I love mass gatherings and I have AS. Don't be so quick to assume you know? He could have been a sociopath too which would explain the manipulation skills. Who knows? The point on speculating is that it's interesting to people like us who are interested in AS and WWII. If it doesn't interest you don't further discuss it.

i think hitler was a seriously complete psychopath with megalomania, and i think that the population of germany was seduced by his forceful assertion of his ideals because he out shone them vastly with his delusive confidence, and his delusion therefore saturated their belief systems.

i think he came very close to making his delusions of national grandeur a reality.

if someone is powerfully influential over a populace of disillusioned lambs, then his delusion can be almost warped into a reality.

the only connection i can see between him and AS characteristics, is the lack of external influence upon his cognitive course.

apart from that, i do not identify with him in any way, and his cognitive content was borne from an unbridled psychopathic drive toward his essential notions.

(i edited my post to get past tenses and present tenses and 1st /2nd third person perspectives correct (blast haywire for posting so quickly because now i have the fact that i edited as a footnote))

He was actually a failed painter. His final piece of "artwork" was The Third Reich if that makes any sense. You ever seen the movie Max?

I identity with Hitler and I'm a Jewish liberal. Whatever though.

Yeah he flunked art school and he never worked a day in his life. He used to be a tramp in a poorhouse in Vienna. Unbelievable that such a character can hijack an entire country, fascinating as well.

He worked! Being a Führer (Leader) is not easy job!

Haywire, how do you identify with him? Can you explain?

Exactly, because it's job like President. You can't say it's easy job.

I identity with Hitler because I have extreme rage for a certain type of person that is bordering on obsession. Have you read any Nietzsche? My opinion is that Hitler went after the wrong people. I'm very into transhumanism and think the next step of evolution was supposed to be what Neitzsche was talking about. (which would have involved getting rid of the herd mentality/the mindless collective/lemming bullies as opposed to the Jewish people)

I also identity with him because he was loved or hated by many yet truly understood by few. (if any at all)

And the uniforms. So hot! They just should have been worn by the right people!

These uniforms were made by Hugo Boss. Good tailoring is always of value.
I agree they were wonderful, but Hitler didn't project them, despite his drawing skills.

Most people wearing them weren't any evils, because they had this whole ideology deep inside their asses. Wehrmacht's soldiers were boys in their twenties. Most of them weren't the members of NSDAP.

I think his drawing skills were crap. You're right though... we can thank Hugo Boss for that one. I'm sure Hitler told Hugo Boss how to design them though. He must have at least taken Color Theory in art school!
