Position of an "Asperger Association" about the DS

I don't want to say I've drawn any conclusions from this yet. Out of curiosity I started to build a logic model in Excel on my computer today, based on DSM IV, and DSM V, that correlates DX's from IV to V, to see whether certain current positives might come up negative with the new criteria. I have to say based on what I'm seeing so far (but it's not finished yet), I'm already starting to see there actually could be reason for concern.

I wish I had done this a while ago, when I first thought of it.

I'm not sure if I can do it, but when I get the whole thing working correctly, I'll see if I can post the results somehow on the web. It's in Excel, and I don't know how to code it for the web, but I can probably post a bunch of screen shots of it.

I'll post a separate thread about it once it's done.

Being a bit suspicious myself, I would say you are likely correct ... and maybe the folks who wrote the piece quoted at the beginning of this thread are just doing their best to try to deal with similar concerns.

I'm glad you did that because something is bothering me about it and I can't put my finger on it. I work in the neurological field and when I get a "feeling" like that it's a heads-up to me to look into it further. I'd be interested in seeing the results.
