I had a small desk top ornament that was a lava lamp. But it broke and I am left with only the bottom bit with the red, green, and blue lights. They sequence very smoothly with eachother and it calms me. So I prefer it to the lamp..

What's an 'autism toy'?

things created for the purpose of stimming or keeping your hand/mind busy. you will find many if you google autism toys. i think most of them are adult versions of childrens toys and some are just toys that are recomended to fill the role of feeding whatever sensory desires one might have because of their autism. we order from smartbraintoys because we were told it would be helpful to supply my step-son with toys that would help with his sensory issues. most of the toys are enjoyed by all the kids and some by us adults as well. could be anything neat though really, like silly putty or those magnetic shape makers, ect.

at our house we have a perplexus which is a hit, we also have plasma balls and some thing called a tangle. i think those are the top three along with a light up eyeball ball we got at the dollar store.

Oh... I don't have anything like that anymore. These days I just mess up the keys on my computer from pulling on them.

I have a stress ball. I mostly use it when I'm anxious.

A well oiled compound pendulum. It produces great chaotic effects.

Haha  I'm always playing with my hair and my mother often tries to get me to stop.
She says that it looks ret*d and claims that it knots (is that the word?) my hair - but I'm pretty darn sure it doesn't, I do it in a very specific way and it doesn't result in any knots unless I'm abruptly disrupted.

My calico "Kitty Kitty Kitten" has been my favorite toy for my entire life. I still can't sleep unless Lucky the Baby Kitten is with me. That thing has gone through more abuse than you could imagine. I once misunderstood the term "freeze dry" and tried to dry her off after Lucky went swimming in the sink by putting her in the freezer. She wouldn't talk to me for weeks after that.
My other toy that I would probably lose my mind without is my old school DS. It replaced my GBC as the most important electronic I own. It can stop a panic attack like it was nothing.
The other stimmy toys I have are:
-A small orange ball with soft spikeys on it,
-String of any kind (I've been known to yank out my hair as substitute when needed)
-Smoke/ steam (preferable smoke from somthing that smells like vanilla)
-world of Warcraft
-My Keychain. Its got 3 glowy rubber fish and my WoW authenticator. I'm messing with it now actually.

Worry beads. I have several in different coat pockets, each of which is about 20 glass or metal beads on a cord. I flip the beads one at a time, or swivel the set around my fingers - the bead-counting thing is unobtrusive and easy to do while walking around shops or other stressful places.

My stuffed dolphin, Dory...I like to rub this specific area where her tummy meets her tail and fluke, and rub it with my thumb when I'm anxious or bored, kinda like what you do with a worry stone. I think I had a worry stone once, but it never relaxed me the way Dory and my other favorite objects can. I don't bite my nails and cuticles at all if I'm allowed to hold Dory.

My vintage die cast of Susie the Little Blue Coupe. She goes with me when I travel, altho these days I take her everywhere with me (along with Dory) in my bag, and she has a very cozy little Hello Kitty coin purse to stay in (I keep her in there so she doesn't get banged up during our travels). I just feel better if I can take her out wherever I'm staying and set her on a nightstand or something so she can watch over me.

My laptop and Mp3 player, if those count.
