All of my family are NT, and I have a pretty large family (12 cousins, and both my mum and dad had 3 other siblings each). My brother hasn't got it either, neither has any of my grandparents. My mum's side are all pretty shy people, who are too nice, and they're the type to let outsiders walk all over them. But they don't have enough AS symptoms to be grouped together to make up an ASD, like I happen to have (unfortunately).

But my social worker has a husband who has diagnosed AS, and they have 5 biological children (4 boys and 1 girl), and all of them are NTs. They are all teenagers and young adults now.

In one of the books Ive read recently it says 20 percent if the father has it and 5 percent if the mother has it.Not sure how accurate that is.Ive seen numbers pop up all over that say different things on this.

I have a daughter that has been sort of diagnosed ( they werent sure if her issues could perhaps have been emotional instead or something).
She is a very special girl, 9 years old and after receiving some help in psychiatry she is doing much better with some things now, than she was 2 years ago.She is a little philosopher,a strong willed little rebel, and understanding and loving child who is willing to stand up for other kids treated in an unfair way.She bubbles over with stories about her life and her happiness is sparkling all over the place.I have also found that I bond with her so much because of our similarities.

Just to share a nice story :-)
Im proud of my little girl.If she's an aspie, then I guess I'll add "little hero" to the list as well.

I too am afraid to have children. My brother is severely autistic non verbal. I have never felt "normal".
I could never ever raise a child with a disability or handicap. I am 33 so it appears that I will never have children.

I'm the only diagnosed Aspie in my family. However, I see some Aspie traits in my father and paternal grandmother.
