On my facebook page I used a photo of myself that I took in a dark room in front of my laptop so the reflection of the computer screen would reflect of lens of my glasses so I would not have to see my eyes. I have people tell me how creepy the image is.

I have no problem looking at myself in the mirror. I'm not sure that I'm making eye contact exactly. It's more that I'm studying myself because the image doesn't seem to bear much relationship to what I feel inside.

Yeah, I can look at myself in the mirror. Because when I'm looking at myself in the mirror, I'm not talking to myself or anybody else, so my brain can devote its processing power to looking in the mirror.
It's also easier because it's you who's controlling your own eyes, so the action of the eyes is predictable to you and thus not overwhelming.

So it's not the mirror itself that is making it easier. The mirror is merely a tool that allows you to see your own eyes. As a result, I'd imagine that looking into another person's eyes through the mirror would be equally as hard.

I like looking at myself and at my eyes in the mirror. :)

I don't know how to do eye contact. In the mirror i have observed the colour of my eyes or the fact that i have one pupil slighty bigger that the other (i don't know why). This is the kind of 'eye contact' i did.

I don't have any problem looking myself in the eyes unless someone else is around me. I don't know why, but I'm not comfortable looking at myself unless I'm alone.

I avoided my own eyes in the mirror for the first part of my childhood. Then around the age of 10 I think I realized that looking in the mirror set off a storm of emotions that concluded with the nearly unbelievable realization that I'm a person, just like everyone else. This happened to me 3 or 4 times after giving my reflection a long hard stare. Now I can look myself in the mirror fine, but I still can't figure it out with other people.
