I don't have problems with bright light (I'm used to being unable to wear sunglasses - prescription ones are too expensive - so I just put up with it. Though had I had any major problems to begin with I doubt I'd be saying that) but I love rain. It makes the air smell and feel so much nicer, and is just so lovely. I hate getting damp, but wet is great :D I don't even care about being cold if I'm in the rain (whereas normally, despite always being cold, I don't like it.) Rain is just wonderful and ... ahhh :)

We get about 100" of rain a year where I live. Love it! Especially right after a real heavy downpour, the smell in the air, the ditch lines full and flowing. I don't like thunder!

Yep, rain is one of the few things that will lift me away from the mundane matter of day to day life for a few secs. When it rains I open door/window & stare out ot put my hand out to feel it. It ALWAYS brings a smile to my face, no matter how I feel.

I like rain. It helps me sleep. I hate when people say, "I wish it would stop raining and be sunny," because I hate sunny weather. I like overcast weather. Sunny weather gives me headaches.

I dislike rain alot.
Not because it's water but because it brings cold and a damp atmosphere.
The whole wet landscape brings me down a bit.

On the other hand sun and warmth always cheer me up.
When there is sun and no real reason to be happy it still puts a big smile on my face all day.

If it were up to me the it would be summer all year round.

It's kinda soothing to hear the rain on the roof at night-time when it's time to sleep.
During the day rain annoys me a little cos I have to go outside and run errands for work.
The roof of my house leaks as well :x .
The smell of the rain is OK if I'm in the countryside but if I'm in the street it smells funny.
It brings a funny smell from the road tar. I've never liked it :? .

I love grey days and rain...seems like I have more energy and I can think clearer...the world is just a bit too bright for me some days.

I love rain, but I'm not obsessed with it. I love the sound of thunder and lightning's fun to watch, but makes me jump. If I knew when lightning came then I would watch it more often. I love the sound of the rain as it taps on the floor outside. :P

As others have stated before, I love the rain for the simple fact that sunshine is agonizingly painful to the eyes.

Just makes me want to strangle people when they say "I wish the weather would clear up" or "its such a beautiful day" while Im blinded and suffering :P

Just overcast is fine with me though.. I love the dim light but hate getting wet.

My feelings are similar. I love overcast weather and I love rain. At the same time, I'll take a sunny day with a cool breeze and enjoy it as well. I just don't like really bright sunshine and I can't stand being hot or sweaty.

I think that I'm going to eventually move up to the Pacific Northwest (Seattle or Portland) so I can enjoy overcast days and rainy weather all the time. Where I live right now, it's hotter than the pits of hell for 6-months out of the year and it hardly ever rains (I think it's been two months since we've had any rain).

I love the rain to a point of near-obsession, and used to wonder if it might just be a coping mechanism for the excessive amounts of it we get in Nova Scotia. I love the smell when the rain starts (petrichor), and I love the sound of it too. I can watch and listen to rain for hours. I used to stay up late when I heard a big storm was coming during the night, and sit on my back step waiting for it to start. I love thunderstorms especially, and moderate hurricanes. (Even though I feel bad about how destructive they can be further south.)

ive got a big coat with a hood and pockets big enough to hold my cd player. Can't count the amount of hours ive spent walking in the rain with music playing. Didn't realise that the smell that you sometimes get when it's raining is called petrichor. I do now though :D

Thank you for that word! :) I love petrichor. And I also love rain and everything about it. I am surprised that so many other people have the problem with the bright light and headaches on sunny days! I thought it was just me. When it rains I just want to go out and stand in it until I'm soaked, and I love stormy weather/thunderstorms. It's nice out the window from inside by the fire though, too. Just watching the rain falling on the leaves is calming and soothing and makes me feel happy and creative and secure. I sleep the best with an absolute downpour drumming on the roof.
The pacific northwest rules!
