Article about a HORRIBLE autism "treatment" - MMS
I'm sorry to say but this Jim Humble seems more of a businessman more than anything else and I doubt his first priority on the list is to actually "help". You know, somehow his miracle mineral dot org reminds of those commercials you see on TV that relates to miracle diet products, which are often a load of bollocks.
I also found something related to this on fda dot gov, and I think it's managed by the U.S Department of Health & Human Services.
Edit: Cannot post URLs yet, sorry.
It's slightly less horrible than it seems... only slightly, though... This is a type of bleach that's not as corrosive as household bleach; it's used to treat water, at lower concentrations. So, not as dangerous as actually drinking regular bleach. Kind of the way shooting yourself with a BB gun isn't as dangerous as using a shotgun for the job, even though neither one is beneficial and both are painful.
When I went down to New Orleans to help out with gutting houses after Hurricane Katrina, this is what we used to get rid of the mold that had gotten into the houses. We all had to get out and weren't allowed back in while the treatment was running. One assumes that it is not exactly healthy to breathe it into your lungs.
Yeah, it is bleach, and yes, it's poisonous, and I just hope this guy and his cult collapse under the weight of their own quackery before anybody gets killed.
Toxicology-related note: By "poisonous", I mean "it is possible to easily ingest enough to harm yourself", and "people working with this stuff need protective equipment". Obviously, a small amount of exposure is safe, or they wouldn't use it to keep dangerous bacteria out of drinking water.

I do. This man is disgusting. What kind of a person would recommend forcing children to drink bleach? It's just wrong on so many levels, and so this man should get what's he's doing to kids. Perhaps the bleach would clean the horrible things coming out of his mouth.
Don't give in to anger. When things like that get you angry, what you do is you take that anger and you feed it into your energy stores, and you use it to motivate you to do something useful. Whether that means just living your life as an autistic person, or whether it means actually combating the bad science here--either way you tell people that autistics are worth it, science and logic are worth it, abuse is not okay. If you just let yourself stew and imagine torturing people--however satisfying it can be to do that--then you'll just feel worse and worse and not get anything done. Don't let them win your attention and your energy like that; they aren't worth it.

First of all, MMS is not bleach. It is s Chlorine Dioxide. Though it does smell and taste a bit like bleach. So what? We are only ingesting a few drops at the time, so even if it was bleach, I doubt it would kill you. It is the wole point of the substance, that it kills. It kills pathogens. As I understand it, the Chlorine Dioxide gets broken down into Salt and Oxygen, and in the process it breaks down stuff that you don't want in your body. It works because the healthy cells can handle that amount of oxygen, but the unhealthy ones cannot.
I don't know if this is true, or not, and I also think this is just a theory of how it works, so even if this is bogus, MMS can still work, just some unknown way.
On the website, MMS autism . org they write the following:
"We know that autism is made up of:
• Virus
• Bacteria
• Parasites
• Yeast
• Heavy Metals
• Inflammation
• Food allergies
MMS is proven to kill pathogens through oxidation, and to neutralize heavy metal compounds. In turn inflammation is reduced, as well as some food sensitivities."
Now, I don't know what autism is,, or what is causing it. But I do find their claims of people getting better by using MMS, intreaging.
I have used it a little bit my self, and I am still alive, and more healthy than I was before. I haven't gotten any miracle from using it, but if you do some research on the web, you will find numerous people that claims they have cured some disease with MMS. I am still convinced that it does what they claim.(kills virus and pathogens).
Now, I haven't had any disease that I wanted to cure by using it, so I have just taken it randomly earlier. Now, I just realised that I have aspergers, and hearing about how MMS can be helpful for that, I will give it a real try. I do remember after using MMS earlier, that I felt more clear-headed, but it could be a placebo of course, so I will try more properly this time, to confirm/dismiss.
I don't know why you folks are so sceptical. What if it actually does work? Please don't dismiss something before you have given it a real chance.
Well yes, it is a bleach: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorine_dioxide
I think the following quotes provide a useful perspective:
One would think that if simply drinking diluted bleach had such medically significant effects, apparently providing a cure for most things except death, the scientific community would be all over it - and that it's not all over it says everything required.
There have been no clinical trials to provide evidence in support of these claims and until there are, it's just anecdotal noise about snake oil.

When I first read this, I thought "how barbaric" and "they should be arrested and prosecuted for attempted murder, or assault or child endangerment or something".
However, I did take the time to read the replies to the article and here is one reply that stood out:
Ignorance calls MMS a bleach......
OSHA says ALL THINGS ARE POISONS, THERE IS NONE WHICH IS NOT A POISON... THE RIGHT DOSE DIFFERENTIATES A POISON AND A REMEDY. http://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp ... S&p_id=770
So no matter what children with Autism are treated with today, in larger doses it is a poison, in smaller doses it is a remedy. And the the same thing with MMS which is nothing more than chlorine dioxide, in small doses it is a remedy and kids are being cured of Autism with it along with many other diseases it is curing.
The sad thing is kids today are being cured of Autism with MMS and many other kids will never have this chance.
Most fruits, veggies, meats and fish in the US have chlorine dioxide sprayed on them before shipment.. Why? Because MMS kills pathogens, oxidizes heavy metals. Oh, and the FDA approves of this..
http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/f ... rn0161.pdf
Chlorine dioxide has been cleared by FDA for direct contact with food
Another post:
As I said, I have taken it for 2 years. No kidney infections or bladder infections anymore as well as it helped my tinnitus and fibromyalgia and I didn't even realize it at first. NO HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS unless you take too much, just like any thing else. If "Enough" wants to write to me I will give you my email when you reply to this and I will share my experience.
This gave me pause for thought. I'm not saying that I necessarily believe this substance can "cure" autism, or that it should be used to try to cure anything. But what I do think, is that people often read sensationalist headlines and biased articles without finding out the other side.
If this substance has potential then it should be investigated. I remain open-minded.
I do not believe that children should be given anything against their will, nor that hasn't been tested on sane and consenting adults first. I also believe that if a treatment clearly isn't working or is causing ill-effects greater than the condition that it is supposed to be helping it should be stopped.
I noted that amongst the replies, was at least one which stated that if any ill effects such as vomiting or diarrhoea occur, then the dosage is meant to be reduced until those ill effects disappear. So like anything, there is the potential for well-meaning parents to misuse it, so strict controls would be necessary because it seems like in some cases people using it have not followed the directions on lowering the dosage.
I also firmly believe that there are conspiracies (or call it what you will, "controls") by Governments and industries going on, to hide cures for things because of the money involved in drugs and medical treatments.

Thank you, Whirlingmind.
Ok, so it is a bleach. But as pointed out, everything is lethal and poisonous in too high doses, but can be safe/beneficial in the correct doses. And yes, when you feel nauseous after taking MMS, you should decrease the dose, as vomiting and nausea is something we want to avoid.
This mindset of thinking that if everybody hasn't embraced something, it must be stupid, is stopping humanity from giant leaps in progress. As long as the majority don't even want to CHECK SOMETHING OUT, unless everybody else has done it before them, makes the people stuck!
It is true, the approved scientific and medical community hasn't done throughout official testing of this substance, but that doesn't make it a fraud, does it? To me, it sounds rather opposite. If this substance was pure quackery, then it shouldnt be a problem to verify that, should it? Money rules the world, and since MMS is cheap, easy to make, and cannot be patented (I think), nobody wants to fund research on it.
And think about it: if it actually cures CANCER, HIV, etc., it is a big big threat to the pharmaceutical industry. I don't find it hard to imagine that those in power would use substancial amounts of money and force to fight MMS. (Or any other threat to their medicine sales). Be it by ridiculing, or hushing down. It is not saints that sit on the top of the medicine INDUSTRY.. The multi-billion dollar industry of medicine.
And so what if a church is using it in their sacramental water... Maybe there is actually is a reason for using it...
Just like some churches uses ayahuasca and peyote as sacraments.
As an apparent proponent of this miracle cure, will you now work to correct those websites claiming it isn't a bleach?

Also, I just found this site: http://www.bleachbath.net/health-advant ... baths.html
Just for some balance, I make no comment on what I think of it.
