Organized. Know where everything is. If there's dust and crumbs on the everything, I don't care though. Maybe that makes me a both.

I'm not really messy, but I do have a hard time cleaning up. It's hell to get started, and the few times I actually get started, it's almost impossible to finish. I always leave something undone. The way I have found to be less messy, is to clean up after myself right away, as best I can. It doesn't always work though, things have a tendency to pile up.

I have read difficulties starting and finishing tasks is an Aspie trait, but then again, it is also an adult ADHD trait.

I'm on the messy side. I don't even attempt to clean my apartment for months in a row. On the other hand, I don't like too much clutter. It means that I have some, and I usually know where everything is (i.e. the place where I've dropped them). My bed is covered with a blanket, so that it looks made. While my apartment may look like it needs cleaning badly, I myself like to be clean and wear clean clothes.

I'm this way despite being taught better as a child, too...

I'm a neat freak. I keep my room clean.

I'm messy too. It makes me feel uncomfortable in houses where neat freaks live for fear of getting a speck dirt on something. But, the funny thing is my brother is on my arse like a diaper if I don't cut down a weed and is always picking on me for other things. But, unlike him I don't have so much clutter in my house that there are only aisles to get through. Though my yard isn't well manicured by any stretch of the imagination, it isn't full of weeds like my brothers and I can go on and on about his dirty past with 2 wives devorcing him, him losing 2 houses and losing his drivers licenses for a year where he was required to take defensive driving school because he is a severe alcoholic. He still drinks. I can't even keep track of all of the jobs he has had because of his drinking and his mouth and he is a liar to boot.

Everytime I walk outsite to do something in the yard he runs in the house. And if it's because he can't stand my guts so be it because I can't stand his guts either. I was regretting letting him move in my rental property and didn't let him move in the first time because of some smart remark he made. I caved in and let him move because he was driving me crazy on the phone. I'm hoping he moves in with my other brother. :) But, then he calls my other brother a rotten thief accusing him of keeping everything my brother in my rental property stored there.

Sorry, but I had to let off some steam, because of the the name of the topic.

I have Executive Function Disorder as a co-morbid, so I am very messy and disorganized. I also have IBS and sleep apnea. The IBS keeps me on the toilet a lot of the day, and the sleep apnea leaves me tired all the time, so I don't have enough time or energy to get everything done anyway. My NT sister is Mrs. Clean, though. We can 't live together, as we would drive each other nuts.

Do you sleep on your back with 2 or 3 pillows under your head? The reason I asked is because I have sleep apnea. So I sleep with one pillow under my head when on my back. But, I usually sleep on one of my sides where I'm not bothered with sleep apnea.

Messy. I don't bother about cleaning up my room or any other place, unless someone nags at me to do it. It also adds to that I've a difficulty with throwing stuff away that is unnecessary.

both... I'm militantly clean when it's not my own belongings. I go on compulsive cleaning spurts when I do clean up. But I am very lax about the timeline and schedule of cleaning, and so my own things end up being very messy most of the time.

Same here! Right now, I am trying to get back into the neatness obsession because my house really needs attention. So far, I have done the kitchen, living room, dining room, and my mom (bless her!) did the bathrooms. My bedroom and garage on the other hand are a total disaster.

Nice.

I need to clean up my house.

Later...

I'm a neat freak at work but I'm messy at home. I thrive on structure and organization though. For some reason my closet and DVD's and CD's are always organized but everything else is a disaster.

Messy - definitely. My apartment looks really, really bad right now and I am terribly afraid that someone might want to come in. Maybe I'll just give up and invest some money in paying a professional to clean for me...

I rather have a messy house then someone coming in here cleaning it. I wouldn't like it very much if they touched or even looking at certain things. But, if people do come to my house I usually set up a time so I can at least make my place halfway presentable.

I wouldn't be happy if I had to live in a clean house.

i never thought my extreme messiness had anything to do with autism; i guess i was wrong. my room is pretty much always a huge mess and it doesnt usually bother me until i lose something important.

on the other hand, any areas i share are usually very well maintained. when i shared a room in college, my side was the neat one. i try never to make people have to be put out by my messes.

I am a complete neat freak, an organizational nut, or whatever else you feel like calling it. I think its because I am so detail oriented that I notice whenever anything is out of place. I think part of the way I cope with my executive funtioning issues is by giving everything a place and keeping it there. That my current working theory at least.

I'm a "Messy Neat Freak"

That is, all my stuff looks absolutely thrown asunder, total chaos. But, I know where everything is, or where it is supposed be. It is my mess, my puzzle, my organization, only I can see the key to it I guess.

"Organized Chaos" is what I call it if someone asks, or complains.
