I don't know if I'm an Aspie, but I am introverted, and I seem to feel other people's energy. I'm guessing that it is because I am hyper aware of their presence, I feel them when they're in the room, and even outside of my room if they are making noise. I can't focus on much of anything and I judge my every action according to what they can see or hear. I find it difficult to move, for it is under their observation.

I wrote this one time about it:

"When there are other people around me, I feel an uneasiness, and every once fluid, once natural movement becomes forced, becomes for the observer. When I move my arm, it is to their judgment. When I smile, it is for their eyes. I no longer exist as a separate person. I am tense, imprisoned in an engagement with the [outsider]."

Which the outsider is not even aware of and probably wouldn't understand.

This does lead me to need a sufficient amount of alone time. Space to be who I am and act without being watched or listened to.

I definitely need my alone time. As for other people, it depends on the situation. I don't like to be around a lot of people I may be asked to participate with at once, but I can stand more anonymous situations like a shopping mall just fine. I also detest night clubs and bars as I am not one to mingle with strangers and dislike the crowds and loud music. In those situations I will usually end up trying to find the least crowded place in the building and wait there until the people I am with want to leave. Usually this is more out of boredom than fear as I have learned not to be afraid in most situations now. Then again, I would much prefer being at home working on a project to being in a party atmosphere as I find it much more pleasurable.
