I am not a big fan of children under the age of ten or eleven. The very young ones are too noisy, energetic, sticky, distractable, and get into everything; their screeching is agonising. The slightly older ones are only slightly better because while they don't scream quite as much anymore, they haven't lost their energetic distractability... or stickiness. Plus I find it very uncomfortable talking with them since I don't know how to communicate with that age-level. Ten and up is generally okay because by that point they have learned restraint, and can participate in slightly more adult conversation. Needless to say, I do not want children of my own.
