Yup changing my diet has helped a lot. I'm not sure if it directly effects my mental state but maybe indirectly. Like my body is functioning better so my mental state feels improved. I'm not gluten free/dairy but very gluten/dairy limited. Cutting out pasta and bread for the most part. I only eat dairy occassonally when it is an ingrediant within something. But no milk, icecream etc. Cafeine elimination and preservative elimination has been the most helpful. also cutting down on added sugars.

It also helped to be paying attention to when, how much and how often I was eating. Keeping my metabolism from going up and dramatically during the day has worked wonders. So remember to eat a little and often.

yep it's helped a lot. No more constant bathroom trips and no more rashes.
I've also eliminated soy, coconut, and coffee.

Yeast and peanuts as well along with sugar.

I was having some out of character anger levels last year, towards particular people...not going to get resolved... so I looked up what was working for parents of autistic kids with temper tantrums, because these were coming in bursts like that. Casein was a much named culprit so I eliminated that and it seemed to help. I later had to add the dairy back and the temper flares did not come back with it. If it was a more subtle obsessive thing and the temper was just side effect, then it came back. Hm...will have to see if casein removal fixes this other more subtle annoyance. That would be nice.
