Prolonged focus?

Could anyone good at this 'momentum' thing please tell me how it works? I got the opposite issue... I'm similarly interested in lots of things but I keep switching all the time, especially when reading. I always read about half a webpage before reminding myself to search for something else that spontaneously occurred to me, only to leave that one mid-way too...after a month or so I have fifty tabs of partially read things that I'm still interested in, so I won't close them, but never actually want to continue reading.

Exactly! My mom has often told me that I have an "obsessive personality". When I am very concentrated on something, especially reading, I literally cannot hear any background noise because I have thoroughly tuned out my environment.

This is often annoying when I am doing homework, because I find it hard to switch from one subject's homework to another.
