Could autism just be too much consciousness?
This hyper-consciousness you are referring to is not the "next step," but rather a defect in the autistic brain. In order to function effectively, the human brain must reduce the overwhelming complexity of the world into manageable, albeit incomplete, fragments. This is a natural process that begins in the early years of life, and the end result is what we call a neurotypical person.
However, for someone with autism, this process is impaired, resulting in a brain that overanalyzes all incoming stimuli. This inability to filter incoming information causes a myriad of problems. Autism is, at its core, an information processing disorder. It is not an evolutionary step forward; it is merely a disabling flaw.
But then why did humans evolve consciousness at all if it's such a disability? All evolutionary advances have been disabilities in certain contexts because evolution is all about tradeoffs; organism must lose ancestral functions to acquire newer and better abilities.

From what I've read, consciousness allowed us the versatility to adapt to most of the planet's enviroments and thus spread out and fill so many enviromental niches. The catch is that having too many processes be conscious rather than subconscious reduces the versatility, leading to rigidity and need for sameness and routine. There is a sweet spot of enough consciousness to adapt to many enviroments but not overshooting it and having not enough filters to be flexible.
I think this is too inclusive a use of "your" and "their" with respect to genes. People helping out their relatives and even members of their own ethnic group is about as far as you can push it for saying that people pass on "their" genes without reproducing. Plenty of the religious groups that are active against abortion are multi-ethnic and multi-racial, making it not about passing on "their" genes as opposed to anybody else's. I also don't think you can make a case for politicians passing on "their" genes without having children of their own. They may make political decisions that favor their own race or ethnic group, but that isn't the same thing. If you look at both history and the curent world, being a politically powerless group doesn't hinder people from reproducing, although it definately hinders their quality of life.
To me, I see that the World works better as a whole with leader, inventors, etc as the minority, and the "herd" as the majority. In that way, there are always a few people who can see the World differently and help progress Society with new and improved ideas, and then the "herd" is required to shift these new ideas forwards and integrate them into society.
Perhaps that could work with the consciousness aspect.
If people with autism are more connected to their consciousness and overanalysing everything, then they have the capacity to completely analyse and check things, while those that operate on a more subconscious level are the ones who just accept it and do it.
NTs LOVE new and improved stuff and gadgets, yet it is more likely people including aspies who have come up with them (which frustrates me since NTs bully these people so much, yet crave the ideas/products they come up with!).
Not sure if any of that made sense lol I am half asleep.
That is exactly how the world works now. That is how it has always worked as far as recorded human history can tell us.

And here is where the autistic brain fails. This hyper-consciousness idea would be great, if only the autistic brain didn't obsess over a few special interests over and over and over again. Autistic people do not see the big picture, only a few small details. It's like living in a fog.
Tell me what is the big picture? Have friends, study, get a job, get married, have kids? You do your so called "duties" just for your own good, but you don't contribute anything bigger to society, you're just a little part of it. Without atleast a little "hyper-conciousness" we would still be living in "first civilization" like times.

Besides..
An over-analyzing truth-craving super-conscious mind is defenseless and is extremely vulnerable to outside influences. Even the dumbest little idea is seriously considered and thoughtfully analyzed, And the further you are on this path, the more confused you are and the more you lose the sense of "self", You start doubting even the simplest things, you don't know "what's what" anymore and you suffer. A lot.
And it's all for nothing. No enlightenment awaits you at the end, no third eye will open. There is nothing waiting there other then self-destruction.
That's what weak people say to feel better about themselves.

All for nothing, and you think you are the most superior man in the world? Tell me what you've done to make the world better, rather than doing things for yourself? The outside influences are just as waste of space as any "extremely vulnerable" person.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about.
But I hit back at you, for the sake of courtesy! Doing things for yourself is the same as doing something for the world, since you are the part of this world!
TAKE THAT!

It seems you don't know what a virus is.
A virus changes everything into it's own element! Therefore, I'm only doing my job.

Only if you haven't continued it right through. Keep living. Things may seem confusing with no end now, but they DO unravel, bit by bit. I do indeed consider every single idea. I enjoy it. It does indeed help me to grow, and I don't think any idea is necessarily "dumb". I analyse it and see what I end up with - ideas can be discarded, and pieces can be kept along the way.
I believe that never considering and analysing ideas to be more dumb. To accept something just because you "should" can make you way more vulnerable. I over analyse things until I feel comfortable and happy with the answer I have found. These things take years. And strength.

lol
What is your definition of a weak person? And in what way am I trying to "feel better about myself" through this thought? Odd.
Whatever you are afraid of, nrau, I hope you come to terms wtih it as you grow and mature.

You don't believe that autistic people can become specialists in their "special interest" field?
I am referring to a bunch of specialists who each contribute a specialist aspect to the big picture. That has nothing to do with them seeing the big picture. Other people can piece things into the big picture, using the highly advanced small parts of the jigsaw puzzle.
And yes, I do believe this is how the World has always worked. I think it makes sense and there is nothing wrong with it,

Oh. MY.
It's almost as if I heard my past self babbling. That nostalgia!
Anyway, believe whatever you want. That "YOU ARE YOUNGER AND NEED TO GROW UP" attitude of yours makes any further discussion a little pointless, don't you think? Yeah, we'd both end up accusing each other of being something and something and soon it would turn into a little flame war.
If you feel so alright with searching through feces just in case there are some pearls mixed in. then feel free to do it, as long as you want. I'll pass, though.

I am not looking for fights. I find enough people who misunderstand me in real life as it is. But I do appreciate being spoken to with respect. Just because you do not agree with someone else, does not give you the right to disrespect that person.
I never said that I was completely mature and that I don't have further to grow as well. What a boring life if that were true. I certainly see the World differently now than how I saw it when I was 18. And I am sure in another 10 years time, I will see it differently also. However, if I didn't analyse everything the way that I do, then I cannot imagine much change occurring and that would be sad for me. I enjoy a very rich inner World and am actually quite insightful about many things. I am driven to find answers, and I wouldn't have it any other way. And yes, finding a pearl amongst the feces is fine by me, I just want to find the pearls
I never said that you have to. And I do, sincerely, hope that whatever it is that is bugging you, that you get past it with a greater sense of peace. There was no malice in that statement. It was sincere.
