Talking in third person

I realize when I speak my first language (not English) with my family, I never use first person or second person, singular or plural. I always use third person to refer to myself, my parents and siblings. I got so used to it that I can't use first person singular pronoun. It feels so weird and makes me very self-conscious. That's why I avoid talking to people from my country or just use English. In English I never use third person to refer to myself. English is so much easier in that sense though it's my second language.

I've never talked in the third person, but it does remind me of that Seinfeld episode where the guy at the gym, Jimmy I think, always talked in the third person and hit on Elaine and she thought he was talking about somebody else so she accepted a date.

I've also never used the royal "we" but would like to. That has nothing to do with your question but I'm very tired and still not sleeping.
