Maybe she's trying to drop a hint, indicate that she wishes to discuss the subject, you could just ask her to explain exactly what she means, or what she wants, explain that you don't understand why she keeps on bringing it up, she might just want you to acknowledge her. Sometimes subtleties are hard.

But why? We dealt with all of that years ago. Whats the point in bringing it up AGAIN? It will never go away unless she forgets about it.

Maybe I'm not getting it but whats there to gain? People are too bloody emotional.

Maybe she feels that the subject hasn't been dealt with, at least to her satisfaction, that there is still something she would like to know or understand. If she is repeatedly bringing it up then clearly she want's to talk about it, that looks like a fun conversation.

People are emotional as they are made that way, simple as that.

I used to find it pretty impossiable to say. Now with my partner I will say it when ever she says it to me first.

They also like to keep old memories of slights against them fresh so they can be used to manipulate you through guilt.

Of course when they dont realize you dont feel guilty it gets annoying and slightly comical kind of like watching someone try to use a telephone thats been unplugged.

Likewise. Sometimes I say "thanks babe" (joke from the movie Alfie (the Michael Cain movie was better)). She knows thats a joke.

I cannot recall ever telling my parents I love them (nor can I recall them telling me).

Michael Caine is a legend, but Alfie isn't his best move. Get Carter is great, especially the theme tune. Zulu is good too. Of course the Italian Job too.

Haven't seen that in ages. He was good in Batman Begins and Quills recently.

Like others, it seems, if told so by my parents, I can mumble out a reply of acknowledgement. However, I cannot bring myself to say it to anyone who I know (I've only been in one situation where it would be hypothetically appropriate, but the idea of saying "I love you" is distressing to me, so I'm assuming that I can't.)
