When you are looking at how effective they are, that is called the NNR rating. It'll be a number, the highest number you can get is NNR 33. So, the absolute highest sound blocking is NNR 33. It should say that on any package you look on if you look on other packages.

You don't need to get NNR 33 ones, you can get lower ones but they won't block as much sound. Mine are NNR 27.
