I am a loner. I relate well to animals, even plants, at social functions. But, I definitely prefer older humans. Sexually, I am attracted to Daddy-ish men. I have a crush on Dr. Phil but I do not like or watch his show on TV (except when I was home sick with the flu - I had a high fever).

I didn't know others felt like this too. I remember in second grade thinking how immature the other kids were and how I would have to wait for them to grow up. Before I was even in school I was hanging out with adults because we lived in the boonies and there were no kids my age for miles. I used to be friends with older kids in school or sit and talked to the teachers. Nowadays I'm 37 and am in love with a 54 year old and have several friends in their 60's. I have no friends my age. I can't stand people in their 20's and 30's for the most part. Just like when I was a kid I am still waiting for them to grow up. My age group is still experimenting with drugs, not working steady or boozing it up at parties. I think I prefer older friends because most of them have finally matured enough to get over the need to party and they have gotten past their bullying stage. I work with mainly young people 18-25 and do not get along with those younger save for a few radical eccentrics. lol And yes they consider me an old fogey.

I find it OK to stick around with my peers, but it's a lot easier for me to talk to older people. I've also felt that I am a more mature than my peers.

I have always interacted better with people from my parents' generation than with people from my own. My interests are similar to theirs. I can discuss history, politics, and serious topics with them. I do well with people who share common interests, regardless of age. The people on my cat site range in age from the 20s to the 60s.

Sheesh, I never even thought about that being connected to AS, I just always felt better dealing with older people than people my age. Even back in grade school I far prefered having conversations with the teachers than in playing nice with the other students

We don't really understand the social rules of people our age.

Older people expect us to act a bit different, so our quirky nature is more accepted... maybe?

Its certainly true though.
