I have Asperger's with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety with panic, and depression. I was misdiagnosed, given inappropriate medications and very bad advice for my condition. It was my daughter's diagnosis of PDD-NOS that led to my diagnosis of Asperger's/ADHD. My cognitive abilities started to decline when my "treatment" for anxiety and depression started, so I believe that has a lot to do with why I have so much trouble functioning now.

Does your mind torment you? if you found how to stop it, I am most interested.
Yes it does, not as often as it used to but yes. I have learned to cope with it but I use a very unconventional method, if it helps I am glad. An old friend was with me once when this was going on and they could physically see me loosing my mind basically. They thought I had overdosed on some kind of drug. What they said to me was: What you have to do when you take too much is tell yourself, using your name, that your on drugs its not real and this is what drugs do. I.E. Sally you are on drugs, drugs make your mind race, its not real, sally you are okay. Now obviously the "drug" thing was not what was wrong with me or whats going on with you but you can as I do replace drugs with brain. I.E. Okay Sally, your brain is doing that thing again, you know whats going on, and that you are essentially okay. For me it tends to help quiet my nerves as well as put some of the trains of thought more in the background and helps me to push away the bad thoughts. It takes a lot of mental concentration to push thoughts around in your brain and will take time. Like meditation focus your "eye" inward and move those thoughts where you want them. I strongly recommend that you check out a movie called what the bleep do we know and pay particular attention to the observer aspect of yourself.

Are all of us that have it are autistic? or other such as ADhD, bi-polar, etc.?
I am autistic and bi-polar.
I am autistic and bi-polar.
I have Asperger's, Complex PTSD, Bi-polar 2, Generalized anxiety and phobia disorders, and a number of personality disturbances such as to fit with but not enough for diagnosis, passive agressive, borderline, and a few others, I also have ODD and ADD as well as clinical depression and clinical claustrophobia. You may also add a slew of learning disabilities like delayed nonfuctional echolalia, dyslexic dysgraphia, discalculia, and a few more.
Wow, looking at this makes me sound like someone who can't function at all but honestly, I do pretty well. I would attribute it to my attitude about all of it, which is basically that while these labels are a part of me they do not define me, no do they need to control my mind. While I understand that mastery of the mind is a bigger challenge for someone like me it is not impossible and is key to functionality and happiness. Hope this answers your questions andd helps you find a bit of peace.
