I use both terms when I talk but every neurotypical gets a kick whenever I say "neurotypical" because I sound like I'm saying "New York Typical."

I find the NT term very amusing.

Which in late Latin meant "pagan" with connotations of "barbarian" (I actually have a Latin dictionary). "Barbarian" instead is a word of Greek origin used to refer to foreigners who couldn't speak Greek well.

Every word used to define the outsider of a group can become (or may already be) very derogatory. So remember: if some NTs do something bad to you don't call them "NTs", call them "sociopaths".
