What I think is interesting is that I know A LOT of non Autistic people who are sex aversional. Some of them are married and have finagled ways to get out of sex, some of them just have it because they feel like their spouse will leave them if the don't, but they don't like it. Some never got married. Non autistic people would rather cut their tongues out then say I am asexual, but a lot of them are.

Do you find people of any gender attractive? I knew I found girls attractive when I was ten, but I obviously had no desire to have sex back then.

i was expressing my concerns to my therapist about not wanting to be a boy and not wanting to be a girl, he said like most aspies, im more than likely Asexual, and i agreed with him.

it also explains why im so reluctant about having sex and also dont really desire it either. (although i had a very high sex drive when i was 13, but it ended quickly)

so now i know

Zombiegirl when I read you don't want to be a boy or a girl I think how the world is full of people very different from you. And how hard it is for me to figure out where I fit into this world. So I wonder if you ever have trouble with that, too. It's more basic.

It's good if this label of asexual helps you, but my reaction reading it is, do you oneed one more label? And so soon after people perhaps were calling you hypersexual.

MOST!? You're dealing with a quack. That statement is simply not true. Look at all the whining about wanting girlfriends that goes on on the Love & Dating threads here on WP and tell me "MOST" Aspies are asexual. What a crock.

I know most of them want the whole package but I just gotta point out that wanting a partner doesn't necessarily mean you're not asexual. Asexuality doesn't have to come with being aromantic.

OP, sexuality can actually be a fluid thing.

Wait, "most" Autists are asexual? wat

Where did he hear that?

Although, I can relate to your post. I think I'm asexual, as well.

I think it's more common for us than in the general population. 1% is asexual.
There is no statistics on how prevalent it is for aspies, but based on polls I've seen it seems to be around 4-10% for us. And yeah polls aren't a good basis and absolutely no proof but it could point to a general picture of higher prevalence for us.

Heh. That's exactly what I thought when I read that. That is one hell of a stereotype, and it's not even true!

and i didnt mean MOST! i ment Most of his aspies hes works with are Asexual

And a lot of them do say they're asexual, too. It's kind of been a thing over the past several years.

Like it's not specifically an autistic thing and I don't think most autistic people are. It's a stereotype, and a broader stereotype about disability that desexualizes disabled people (often along with infantilizing us).

I thought I was asexual too, but then in my twenties I met my wife and suddenly I was sexual lol. I think looking back it was that I needed to not only be really into someone, but also very emotionally close before I felt secure enough to feel sexual and have sex.

The idea of anonymous sex with a stranger is mind boggling to me, like going to a prostitute. It just wouldn't work. 8O

Go get your testosterone checked.... not having a sex-drive is usually a sign of testosterone-related issues. No one is born "Asexual". It's usually related to some undiagnosed condition.

I think that's called "grey-A". You're usually asexual, unless you have exactly the right circumstances (usually a committed relationship).

Got a source for that? :)

I somewhat identify as asexual. I'm not interested in having sex with anyone and never plan to do it again. I haven't had sex since 1995.

I had a hysterectomy in 2012 and have had pretty much no sex drive since then but even before that if I had sexual feelings I didn't want to have sex with other people.

I'm happy for you :) It's always a nice feeling figuring out something about yourself. Its like a burden being lifted. I'm a biromantic asexual, so when I found out what asexuality was, I was so relieved that there were other people out there like me. I was like "hey, this has a name!"
