Could you give examples for some of them? BTW, I'm gonna go through this myself.

Reading your traits it seems possible that you were correctly diagnosed but it's also possible you have comorbid conditions. BTW you can't be diagnosed with "HFA" , you can only be diagnosed with either ASD or prior to 2013 PDD_NOS or AS.

Not every country uses the DSM and I was dx with classic autism (high functioning type) ICD-10 F84.0. I don't live in America, so I couldn't even be dx with ASD.

edit:
... And actually I'm dx with transsexualism, but I like "gender dysphoria" better, but that term just exists in the DSM actually. And schizotypal PD is just a PD in the DSM, in the ICD it's called schizotype disorder and considered to be on the schizophrenic spectrum.

Here's it for me, with some examples:

1.1 Thought Interference
Sometimes I'll get random thoughts that my mind then tries to connect my current line of thought to (in a way that doesn't make sense). I have to clean out my thoughts, so to speak. Sometimes when thinking hard I will get this random phrase coming to my head, like when I was driving once, thinking about stuff and the unrelated "America is the greatest country in the world" popped up out of the blue, which threw me off. I had to get myself together, so to speak, to think again.

1.2 Gedankenenteignung
Sometimes I will get the sense that my thoughts aren't mine, like when I immediately thought and said to myself "America is the greatest country in the world," it was almost like I was possessed. Sometimes, I think I will feel like I am receiving a thought directly from God that is expressed in my thinking. Sometimes, I feel like someone like George Washington is there observing or reading something with me.

1.3 Thought Pressure
At times, I will start thinking about lots of things at once, which are at least somewhat unrelated, and I have to catch myself to get my thoughts back on track.

1.4 Thought Block
Sometimes, while speaking, I will lose the context of the conversation. As I rack my brains for the context, I keep talking, trying to keep the next thing as closely related to the previous thing as possible; I can often recover the context, however. Also, when I am really concentrating on something, my thoughts will seem to start getting smaller and crowded out by other thoughts. It works to have what I'm working on in front of me so I can immediately see it again.

1.6 Ruminations-Obsessions
I often have to mull over conversations I've had; it helps me grasp their meaning. I find that I often don't have a very clear understanding in the middle of the conversation, especially as it stretches on. Thinking about it later helps things become clearer. At times, I become very caught up with violent thoughts and just let them play out while I get anxious and agitated. I have something of a compulsion for symmetry and counting.

1.8 Spatialization of Experience
Ever since I was 6, it has seemed sometimes like my thoughts come behind and above my eyes. Sometimes they will appear further to the left or the right; because of my compulsion for symmetry, this sometimes bothers me, and I may try to produce an equal force of thoughts on each side to produce symmetry. Sometimes a thought feels like something that's got stuck in my head, almost like a tortilla chip caught in my throat, and it will keep emerging; it's often random and not something particularly bothersome in itself, except that it's gotten stuck. I would often get an itching feeling from it.

1.9 Ambivalence
When I need to get up and do something, I feel a strong urge to do it, but also a strong urge to remain as I am. This conflict isn't the most pleasant thing in the world.

1.10 Inability to Dicriminate Modalities of Intentionality
I often confuse what I've thought for something I've read; in fact, I may add whole passages to something I've read, when in reality I just read it. Also, sometimes I cannot tell if I just dreamt something or it actually happened; and lots of times I think I accomplished a task when I didn't.

1.11 Disturbance of Thought Intentionality
See 1.9

1.12 Attentional Disturbances
Sometimes an object will stand out from the others, and will produce an itchy feeling like in 1.8. I become drawn to that object and fixate upon it, but I don't know why other than the itchy feeling. I often have to touch the object, pick it up, and cover it with my hands, relieving the itch. I may put it up somewhere so that I cannot see it again.

1.14 Disturbance in Experience of Time
I will sometimes feel like I am stagnating and the world is rushing on past me.

1.16 Discordance Between Intended Expression and the Expressed
I will often feel I just gave a horrifying impression of myself. I will often get the impression that the smile I just smiled came across as a slasher smile, signalling to my interlocutor an evil intention I do not have. Or I will try to hold a friendly conversation with a person but afterward feel as if I gave the impression I was going to hunt them down and kill them, when that wasn't my intent at all.

1.17 Disturbance of Expressive Language Function
Sometimes I will intend to discuss something, but I am left with the impression that the impression of my listeners was completely different from expectation. It is like, If I try to be too specific, I will narrow in on the wrong thing and give my listeners the wrong impression of my focus, like trying to zoom a camera lens in on a person but getting the flower pot next to them instead as my photograph. If I am not specific enough, then I feel like my full view was not expressed.

2.1 Diminished Sense of Basic Self
I often feel like a monster, like I am full of evil, based on nothing. I have long felt different from others, but perhaps this was because I was put in special ed as a kid. Lots of aspects of me confuse myself, like I can't fit them into a narrative very well, but leaving them out feels like I'm concealing from myself important aspects of myself. I often feel a sense of void.

2.2 Distorted First-Person Perspective
For some of this, see 1.2. I sometimes feel like I am in the back of my skull, with my thoughts angled up from me and looking through the void to the windows that are my eyes.

Alright. I've gotta take a break here.

I found this here which gave some descriptions of patients with schizophrenia who were interviewed with the EASE:

http://schizophreniabulletin.oxfordjour ... bs033.full

Jane's description is what brought to words my experience of my own thoughts and self:

Quote:
She described alterations of the first-person perspective, eg, she has the impression of perceiving everything “through” her head, “from a point located at the back of my head, as if my eyes were placed there.”

Also, looking here, I wonder if Jane would have been diagnosed with an ASD as a child if she were much younger:

Quote:
Already from the age of 4 she felt profoundly different from others. She rarely played with other children, since they made her nervous and insecure, and she never invited them home because their presence was felt as deeply intrusive—“they would come too close to me.” At puberty, her feelings of being different intensified and she felt as if she was an extraterrestrial. She often withdrew to her room, and the frustration and anger of not being able to be around others led to episodes of self-harm and suicide-attempts.

I was just nearly done and then everything was gone and now I've to restart again.
I've the feeling a lot of those are overlapping with other disorders, like in category 1 with depression and so on.
So I mentioned every I have

1 Cognition and Stream of Consciousness
1.2 Gedankenenteignung
1.4 Thought Block, Subtype 2 or 3 maybe
I've the feeling that my thoughts a "gone", but thought block probably fits better.

1.6 Ruminations - Obsessions, Subtype 2 and 5
I've obsessive thinking about experiences I had in the past and who were rather unpleseant, together with paranoid thoughts.

1.10 Inability to Discriminate Modalities of Intentionality (in the past)
That was one of the first symptoms I had. My schizotypal symptoms started around age 12. I couldn't devide between dream and reality and also sometimes not between what I've had thought and what realy happened.

1.11 Disturbance of Thought Initiative or Thought Intentionality
Lacking of energy and my thoughts are rather "slow".

1.12 Attentional Disturbances, Subtype 1
Well, I'm dx with ADHD, but still I listed it here, because my attentional problems got a lot worse the last years.

1.13 Disorder of Short-Term Memory (sometimes)
I keep forgetting things fast, but I don't have this always but a lot. But I also had this as a child from time to time.

1.17 Disturbance of Expressive Language Function
I'm sometimes missing the right words and I tend talking in metaphores from time to time, but I also had a speech delay.

2 Self-Awareness and Presence
2.1 Diminished Sense of Basic Self, Subtype 1
I feel different from childhood on.

2.3 Other States of Depersonalizations, Subtype 1
"the ego is depressed – there is no distance between the subject and his tristesse" that fits perfectly.

2.4 Diminished Presence, Subtype 1
I just donw feel fully present and like in a "dream like state", but that has to do with inattentiveness.

2.5 Derealization, Subtype 1 (sometimes)
The day before yesterday I walked down the street and had the feeling that the world is "bizzare". It was just a feeling though.

2.12 Loss of Common Sense/Perplexity/Lack of Natural Evidence
That's connected to 2.5 I guess. In such situations I wonder about everyday stuff like why the police has the colour "blue" and why my house is in that street and stuff like that. I know it's just a feeling.

2.13 Anxiety, Subtype 3, 4, 5 and 6
Certain social anxiety, phobias (claustrophobia), free floating anxiety and paranoid feeling towards certain(!) situations.

2.14 Onological Anxiety
Sense of insecurity and having the feeling that I need to defent myself. That's connected to 2.13 paranoid thoughts.

2.15 Diminished Transperency of Consiousness
Feeling of not being fully awake. Like in a dream like state.

2.17 Hypohedonia
Having problems to feel the full range of emotions, but sometimes I "freak" out and everything gets too much.

2.18 Diminished Vatality, Subtype 1
Mental and physical fatigue

3 Bodily Experiences
3.7 Cenestic Experiences

3.8 Motor Disturbances, Subtype 3 (just once or twice), Subtype 5
I was twice under such a shock that I couldn't move anymore, once even for several hours after a fight with a friend of mine. The other motor issues I have are present since being little.

4 Demarcation/Transitivism
4.3 Threatening Bodily Contact, Subtype 1
I hate it when others come close to me or want to touch me.

4.4 Beeinflussungsstimmung
The feeling that something might happen.

5 Existential Reorientation
5.1 Primary Self-Reference Phenomena
I sometimes have the feeling that situations have a special meening especially for me of that something I see in a movie or what I read is refering to me.

5.2 Feeling of Centrality (very rarely)
I just had it once or twice that I felt like being totally special and in the middle of everything. So that's more an exeption.

5.3 Feeling as if the Subject's Experiential Field Is Only Extant Reality (just sometimes)
I thought about it once or twice in the past if just the things are true that I see.

5.4 'As if' Feelings of Extraordinary Creative Power, Extraorinary Insight into Hidden Dimensions of Reality, or Extraordinary Insight into Own Mind or the Mind of Others (just sometimes)
I sometimes have the feeling that there could be hidden dementions in the world, mysthic dimentions.

5.5 'As if' Feeling that the Experienced World Is Not Truly Real, Existing, as if It Was Only Somehow Apparent, Illusory, or Deceptive (just sometimes)
It's connected to 5.4 the feeling that there could be hidden dimentions or the other way around that we are not truly real, but something else instead.

5.6 Magical Ideas (from time to time)
I'm sometimes thinking about the possible existence of goths, other mysthic creatures or religion. But I don't believe in any of that, but still I've read into many religions, from christianity, judaism, islam, zaratustraism, satanism, buddhism and propably even a few other.

5.7 Existential or Intellectual Change (from time to time)
Well that's connected to 5.6 when I start reading into stuff and start fewing the world differently. But that's just a feeling and doesn't last very long.

Hey Raziel,

As I understand it, 1.13 only "counts" if the problem is so severe that at least at times you cannot follow a story or conversation--you keep forgetting what came earlier.

For 2.3.1, you may have misread it. It's talking about where the ego is NOT depressed but symptoms of depression set in anyway, contributing to a sense of alienation from your feelings, a sense of, How on earth do I feel this way, leading to a sense of unreality of the self (hence depersonalization).

You might be able to request a translation in your native language if it'd help you understand it better:

http://www.easenet.dk/blog/translations/

Okay 1.13 is not that severe (but in reading it is that severe very often), but I've also clearly no schizophrenia where the symptoms are more severe. Also I missread stuff, also because I've sometimes severe problems focusing and I didn't have it that severe as a child.
I'm also no typical case of depression. A psychiatrist I know personally thinks I'm not really a case of depression, but I've clearly a low level of energy and other symptoms I didn't have as a child. But my current psychiatrist dx me with recurrent depression, but I also think I've depressive symptoms but my main problem is something else.

I think that even if some symptoms fit in the dx I was dx with, that my mainproblem or many of my other problems are missed. But I think that disorders do overlapp. I was already different as a child, no doubt, but that doesn't explain everything.

The only two disorders I'm convinced about is gender dysphoria and Tourette's (and of course dyslexia as a child), but not so sure about the rest I was dx with. Those can at least to some degree be explained otherwise.
But also both Tourette's and dyslexia are connected to the schizo-spectrum or to schizotypal. So the combination is quite possible.
I personally think it's mostly Tourette's and gender dysphoria and schizotypal PD and it's likely that there are some ADHD and autistic traits, but that's not my mainproblem at all.

Schizotypal PD:

DSM- IV TR

(1) ideas of reference (excluding delusions of reference)
yes, deffinetly. I also get paranoid about situations and interprete them than in a strange way. Not that common, just certain situations.

(2) odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences behavior and is inconsistent with subcultural norms (e.g., superstitiousness, belief in clairvoyance, telepathy, or "sixth sense"; in children and adolescents, bizarre fantasies or preoccupations)

To some part, but I don't talk about it, because I know it's just beliefs and I'm also not sure about them.

(3) unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
Yes, I deff. had unusal perceptual experiences, but I'm not sure about the bodily illusions, may those not.

(4) odd thinking and speech (e.g., vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped)
Yes, I tend to talk in metaphores and I've odd thinking.

(5) suspiciousness or paranoid ideation
Yes, but just towards certain situations

(6) inappropriate or constricted affect
sadly, yes

(7) behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar
I don't really think so, but I asked a friend of mine and she thinks I've certain eccentric aspects. But I'm not "hyper-eccentric".

(8) lack of close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
I've some close friends, but not that many.

(9) excessive social anxiety that does not diminish with familiarity and tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative judgments about self

Thats the worst one. I've that in general, but more severe about certain situations and ppl who seem to make me totally paranoid. This criteria is just fitting perfectly.

Gillberg's criteria for Asperger syndrome

Severe impairment in reciprocal social interaction (at least two of the following)
inability to interact with peers

I would say I'm different and never had many friends, but I always had friends, even in kindergarden.

lack of desire to interact with peers
I've less desire to interact with others, but I always had some few close friends.

lack of appreciation of social cues
I'm pretty much average in reading social cues.

socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior
yes

All-absorbing narrow interest (at least one of the following)
exclusion of other activities

yes, I've narrow interests and forget everything around me.

repetitive adherence
yes, I guess.

more rote than meaning
Ehm, for me makes my bahaviour sence and has meaning. :?

Imposition of routines and interests (at least one of the following)
on self, in aspects of life
on others

I've routines, but I'm not sure what "on self" or "on others" actually means?

Speech and language problems (at least three of the following)
delayed development

I started talking being three years old.

superficially perfect expressive language
What does that exactly mean? Why "superficially"?

formal, pedantic language
No, not really.

odd prosody, peculiar voice characteristics
yes, my tone changes I was told.

impairment of comprehension including misinterpretations of literal/implied meanings
I don't really think so.

Non-verbal communication problems (at least one of the following)
limited use of gestures

yes

clumsy/gauche body language
no

limited facial expression
I think so, I've a flat affect, but I'm still sometimes "over emotional".

inappropriate expression
hm, maybe. I'm not sure.

peculiar, stiff gaze
no, deffinetly not.

Motor clumsiness: poor performance on neurodevelopmental examination
I've some motor problems.

Note that people with schizotypal disorder tend to have scores on the EASE very close to people with schizophrenia, as this study shows:

http://schizophreniabulletin.oxfordjour ... bt239.long

As other studies have shown, however, patients with bipolar psychosis tend to have much lower scores on the EASE and in other measures of self-disorders compared to patients with schizophrenia, even if the severeity of the psychosis has been the same, as mentioned in the study linked above, here (footnote references removed and definition of abbreviation inserted):

Quote:
A study by Haug et al of nonconsecutive first admission patients with schizophrenia and bipolar psychosis found that the SD [self-disorders] aggregate selectively among the patients with schizophrenia, replicating an earlier report on schizophrenia-bipolar differences in chronic patients, using a pre-EASE-SD-analog scale. The difference in SD between schizophrenia and bipolar psychosis, observed by Haug et al, remained significant after controlling for the differences between the groups on the symptomatic PANSS dimensions.

It appears psychosis is just one manifestation of self-disorders and psychosis in mood disorders may have a different cause than psychosis in schizophrenia spectrum disorders.

I spoke with my psychologist about the EASE. He says I'm so knowledgeable about it I could just assess myself. LOL.

This all doesn't really help me to answer my main questions, if I do fit in the dx criteria for schizotypal PD. And also how I see it, the routines I do have can't be explained through the schizophrenia spectrum. I also have certain stims since being little.
