None, never had, and I am 51 now. no one except my son, and perhaps my mother, would miss me. and she will die soon.
never had any real or true friends. I don't count romantic relationships, and those never lasted either.. no one would be there if I needed them.

If thats what you wanted to know.

The answer is, if life is but a dream, then its your dream to live, make of it what you will and expect nothing less of your best of who you are, in order to get the most of what you dream for. but be forewarned, the answer is easier to live then to believe in, for if you cant believe in your self you cant live your own dream. you have the answers, only you hold the key, and the door is waiting. only you can make the best of what you have.

Same. I guess I have developed a sort of unspoken rule with the people I know where they do not approach me if I don't approach them, which works fine for me.

Well, if you:

1. Delete him or her on facebook and other sites.
2. Not answering their calls (by not having your phone).
3. Not calling them back.

That pretty much equals you dumping them as a friend. And then not even having the decency to tell why you did it.

Do not do this.

None. I have friends at college but that doesn't really extend to out of college, they have invited me out but that is for drinking and nightclub sort of things and I don't like that. It was the same as at school but maybe it would extend to going into town or the cinema once every two months. I'm not too bothered though I quite like it this way.

That's not a fair assesment. People look for me, bang on my door, use me to fix their stuff, call me friend, and do not talk to me unless it breaks again. Sometimes it is scary. 8O . So if this is your definition of a friend I would say about 2 or 3 hundred. There was a time when I dumped my phone, and moved just to get away from these crazies. Now I need more. For money. I charge more now though, so unfortunately I have less friends.

I'm going to put up my own definition of friends so make sure you're qualifying your friends based on the definition I give...

Imagine you delete your friend off of Facebook, Twitter etc. You lose their number and have no mobile phone... If this person would come to your home or place of work to find out what gives then they are a true friend.

My reason for making this thread is to find out how many true friends most of you have.

I'll go first, I have a few 'friends' but by my definition I would have zero friends.

How about y'all?

I actually like your definition. I would say I have 6 friends or so but not all would bother to know what happened in your situation. I made a little change because I don't use social medias, I imagine not answering their calls anymore and "disappearing".
then, I would say only one (maybe two), my NT best friend that lives in a city 200 kilometers away but would certainly come here to see me if she got worried. There is one more which is an exception to the rule: my aspie best friend. I don't think she would come search for me as she isn't usually the one to approach, call etc but she would get worried and upset for sure.

Interesting answers so far, especially people commenting on the definition I set. Makes me feel a little more normal knowing that not having any friends isn't too uncommon. I'll sure I'll get to the typical one-two mark some day though :)...

Keep the answers coming ;o!

I live in a isolated area.......there are no neighbours my only friend moved to a distant city...
i just call her up after couple of months

there is one colleague who is good with me in my workplace
rest all ignore me....but she is migrating to a other city

soon i will be lonely, isolated and sick
of being mocked and bullied at my workplace and colony
for being alone and without support

If they knew where I live, it'd be about 10. 10 people who care enough about me they are concerned when I disappear from the internet and stuff for a while.

I know this because I've deleted Facebook in the past, not been on any online forums or profile, and one did come to my door asking about me, but he knew where I lived. The rest don't, and have to rely on me getting back online or texting back, or they'd never know. They don't know my parents so there's no way to find me really.

That is fun wind. I deleted my facebook account, and I got nothing? I have a couple close friends, and keep in touch with my parents. All those others... nothing.
