If someone insults me I never have a spontaneous reaction. I may spend a lot of time trying to sort out why they said it, looking at it from all angles, wondering if it was my fault, wondering if it even was an insult, etc.
eventually I just let it go.
I would never discuss it with the person.

I'm pretty much the same way.
Except maybe for the 'letting go' part.

"Anyway, the question was not about the woman. It was more about how aspies process insults."

I know the answer to that one. Aspies don't handle insults. If we have failed to achieve the liking of someone enough to be insulted, we will never be able to win this one. better to distance ourselves, sometimes to the point of bridge burning. I will be working on this one myself. It is hard to imagine the type and scope of the work. I figure it's a lot.

What if the aspie man is actually conscious of being guilty in this matter?

Honestly, I feel like I have a major emotional processing problem. I'll hear something, freeze, make brief contact with person's face, and try to decipher their emotions and respond (which takes me who knows how long) and I usually can't answer for 15 seconds.

My tech supervisor, whom I doubt is autistic, but upon being asked a question from anyone, he'll remain silent for 30 or so seconds, staring into space, before answering. Just thought it was worth noting.
