Think a disability is considered cool by the general public if you've overcome it in a big way.

Tend to agree with Ezra, it's cool only when the "perceived" disability is overcome. Plenty of disabled folks on Australian TV who are showcased because they "beat" their disability to integrate into NT society.

Otherwise the disabled are seen as freaks
