Fascination with copyright dates?

I like to make guesses on a book's copyright date by its pages (how they feel, what they smell like, look like, the font used). There was even a period where I'd note characteristics of book pages according to their copyright "eras".

I also have that fascination with copyright dates. I look for such dates to see how old a book or a movie because I have a fascination with years, eras and decades.

i read a book published in the 70s or 80s that predicted how the 21st century would be like.

it was funny 'cos most all the predictions were oh so wrong.
