Not keen on posting a picture on the indexed part of the forum, but apparently I'm not unattractive... Unfortunately I seem to have a somewhat limited ability to follow through on that, what with the talking and the not being able to tell if the other party is actually interested etc etc... I find that there are a lot of deeply ingrained opinions and behaviours that are hard to get past.

You've probably met some 'hot' Aspie guys but they've either self-doubted themselves out of the game or pretended to be obnoxious because they don't want to entertain the possibility of being rejected, cheated on, dumped etc etc again. Or they've become really transfixed by you, to the point that you nope the f$ck out because it's this really weird, complete kind of puppy dog/lost child love that's really hard to deal with.

Can I state for the record that this is something I have no first-hand experience of, and I am pulling this entire post out of my butt because it sounds good

You know how some people are all, 'you just need to be yourself!'
But it's in ones' nature to be self-critical (or should I say, 'great at self-analysis!')
So one is themselves, which is self-critical... I mean, analytical...
Only to be told that one is too negative?
Even going so far as to be told that they should play their innate sense of negativity down?

Repress feelings, snake bites tail, etc etc

I think I had a crush on an aspie guy in middle school, but he didn't like me much. I thought he was pretty cute though, and I bet he probably doesn't look too bad today.

I am usually not so vain to do stuff like this, but whatever...

I will be honest with you all. I know plenty of young guys with Aspergers. And the majority arne't that physically attractive. Out of all of them, I would really only say 2 are what many would consider pretty attractive. And I know at least 40 men with HFA.

^^ This.

Hence why that "where are all the hot aspie girls" thread is quite hypocritical.

Okay, there's a thread about hot aspie girls, but now I'm gendering reversing that.

Where are all the hot aspie GUYS?! Give photograpic proof and we'll judge you. ;)

I think this is a case of two wrongs not making a right. Nice try though. It's a shame that making a thing gender-equal doesn't always make it better.

I see the other thread got locked. Don't really understand why, there wasn't much sign of vitreol immediately before that, but I was kind of glad.

Don't let me rain on the parade though. We might see some really good jokes on this thread.

LOL....like I said in the other thread:

Just look at the many pictures of people posted on this Site over the 11 years of its existence.

Not too many grubby-looking people!

Like i said with the hot aspie girls thread, psychical attraction is all down to individuals taste.
It's all about connection and plus certain people are attracted to certain types.
Like for me, I haven't met a guy that I have a connection with but if I'd say i'm attracted any guys, it will be guys that I have a connection with and are introverted solitary types that like heavy and rock music, the male version of me. It's all about who you can relate too and of course attraction is key too but without personality theirs nothing.

Half of you are above 50 or above 40 and married, of course you're going to say looks don't matter.

When you're still young, yes looks will matter more. Am I going to date someone I find hideous, heck no. Now this may change when i'm like 10 years older and i'm still single, i'll be like I will just take anyone.

I'm in my 20's not married and never had a long term relationship actually

Still stand by what I said, connection and attraction is key.
Not saying we should go for looks but you have to be attracted to someone both physically as well as mentally.

:D

I think that guys care more about looks then women do. Like when guys are looking for women, they put a greater priority on looks than when woman are looking for men. And I think woman put a greater emphasis on personality, compatibility, financial status. So guys, good news. You can be ugly but still attract the women of your dreams. Just be a good person inside, be friendly and kind to her, and make ass loads of money. Then you'll be set.

Women care about looks, too!

Nothing wrong with that; it's the human condition.

As we grow older, though, we realize that "looks" are not the "be-all, end all" when it comes to a suitable life partner.

I'm just tired, my knees hurt and I want another cup of tea. The hotness I'll leave until tomorrow.
