I finally discovered I have autism but nothing has change

Also, not everybody who can get disability wants it. My youngest son is completely deaf in one ear, from birth. He also used to have pretty bad ADHD and may still have it but he aged out of Medicaid and never got other insurance so he can't get his Vyvanse now but he's doing fine at work. He will put up with it and deal because it's a paycheck and he likes supporting himself and his girlfriend. He's the one who I think also has AS like I do. I talked to him about it but he's not at all interested in finding out. He sees no reason to.

He did terrible in school though. Not only did he have trouble with the teachers, because he was always bitching about something being unfair and always getting suspended and crap. He got in fights and even broke this one guys jaw who made fun of him but he does ok socially. He has friends and everything and lives with his gf. He's 20. I was terrified that because of how he was about things having to be fair that he wouldn't ever make it in the working world, but that paycheck changed everything. He grew up real fast. He's really happy now and he says that there is no need for him to get any disability because he's not disabled. He thinks he should leave that to the people who actually can't earn a living. I'm proud of him.

So, if you are disabled and you cannot get or hold a job then I say go for getting it. But don't get it just because you don't like working, because really most people don't enjoy it.
