I hate the word "please"

In my case, that word actually puts the bossy sting in the request. I'd rather have someone say "Duck you!" to my face.

So....you would like some girl to say, "Yo! Cook me some eggs, goddamit!" Rather than: "Darling, I would appreciate it if you would make me some eggs, please. Thank you."

Cooking is women's job.

Trust me....women don't think cooking is their job any more.

All right...how about if a woman says, "Fix that toaster, goddammit," rather than say, "Honey, the toaster is broken; would you please fix it?"

The first one is better because it's more honest.

It's BS, because she's trying to be the boss. You don't let no woman be the boss of you.

I think the girls saying "please" is sincerely appreciative of someone who would fix the toaster, so she could have toast in the morning again.

No offense taken at her post, but I've been accused of being sexist for saying that all women are materialistic. That's not being sexist, it's just generalizing.

As long as you say you're generalizing, then it's okay. You have to say you're generalizing, though.

Women feel things about men; men feel things about women. Everybody generalizes.

You have to listen to all sides, though. That way, you'll become smarter.

It is a fact that not women are materialistic. There are some men who are materialistic, too. A few even want sugar mommies.

It feels even worse when power figures use that word. Such as a teacher telling me in school "Please hand over your paper.".

Yeah....I can see what you mean. It does sound authoritarian--but there's a certain respect for you when they say "please." Yes, I've felt the same way as you when I was in school.

But, as you get older, they'll be less authority figures. People will say "please" because they appreciate what you are doing for them.
