I don't know why it says I'm 91. I'm 31. That's a mistake. Anyway, I have been having low self esteem since I was 13. I don't like myself. I had problems in high school. I still live part time with my parents and I argue with them alot. I'm jealous of my sister who has a boyfriend and a job. She is also much prettier than me. I used to be suicidal like 5 years ago. I should have said "used to."

I don't mind talking to you.

But why did you ask if many people with Asperger's are serial killers?

Because I think about murder. I read novels by Mary Higgins Clark. She's a mystery author from New York City.

People with Asperger's are like people everywhere.

There are quite a few nice people with Asperger's, and some nasty ones, too.

Can we not infer then that you too would like to have a job + boyfriend?

Perhaps you could set yourself some goals?

Maybe you could set up an account with an online dating site? Or you could attempt to be more social by joining a local club, which could open up more possibilities for you to meet other people who share your interests.

Moreover, you could enhance your employment prospects by volunteering a few hours each week.

I could be mistaken but to me it seems as if you have plenty to live for. :D

Maybe you could find a new author to get interested in. There are so many out there. If I had a fascination with murder that was being fueled by books i was reading, i think i would take a break from that type of books for a while.

I would say that question says more about society than the questioner. She's most likely been inundated with cultural messaging about autism/violence even though there's never been a link. I know she says it's the Mary Higgins Clarke books, but against the backdrop of society telling you that you have a disease that's inherently violent it's easy to see how the question would arise.

To the OP: you have value and I don't even need to know you to know that. I know because you've survived 31 years surrounded by psychopaths attempting to snuff you out through social interaction-- you've survived, that shows you've had the strength to get up and face that challenge for at least 11,000 straight days. Really think about that for a second, 11,000 straight days you've gotten up and faced society's sickness-- that is strength, and strength has value.
