Seems I'm the odd one out. I like the 'white noise of the shower' and the feeling of soft rivers of water over my body is really soothing.
But, I can attest to other things that have left my skin ultra sensitive to the touch. Very painful. But it's usually going from one temperature environment to another quickly. And, it's not the exposed parts. It seems to affect my whole body when that happens. Really makes it painful to move about.
The bucket idea is good too. Had to do that in China since most bathrooms are not western in style at all. But it was really nice to feel that cascade of water. Like swimming without the pool.
