For the record however, Asperger's Syndrome's diagnostic criteria prevent those with non-normal IQs to be considered... statistically speaking... from that, Aspies are actually going to be more intelligent than other parts of the population. I, myself, have Asperger's... and my iq is 183...

im not smart by the way because i have low iq im confused because they diagnosed me aspergers syndrome but thanks calling me troll and bating it makes me not talk to you at all so im dumb and stupid my self ok you dont understand me seriously time move on

"High Functioning Autism" is considered Autism with average to above intelligence. Sometimes this is measured by IQ over 70. Aspergers was officially considered a form of High Functioning Autism without "clinically significant general delay in language (E.G. single words used by age 2 years, communicative phrases used by age 3 years)". I personally do not think what language delays a person had before age 3 is relevant to an adult. Because of a change in manuals, people are getting diagnosed with "Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 without language and intellectual impairments" instead of Aspergers.

It is important to note that there is no requirement that you be smart to be diagnosed with Aspergers just that you are not intellectually disabled in a clinical sense. The idea that you have to be smart to be considered to have Aspergers is a commonly believed false stereotype.


What is your IQ?

IQ results are not the be all and end all of being smart. There is a belief that because Autistic people think and process things differently IQ tests do not accurately measure intelligence in autistic people.

What reasons besides IQ tests results do you think you are not smart.


Because Autistics often think and express themselves differently they often get treated badly and called "ret*d", also Autistics find it difficult to interact with the world. Because of these issues Autistic people often think they are dumb when they really are not.

Look...I understand you are hurting... we lash out when hurt... I have gone through considerable emotional pain VERY recently...

This is a place for help... but you have to be open to it... Trolling was one option... (there WERE four, btw)

If you want help... stop lashing out at the people here and approach it as if we are a resource...

yeah i was born deaf and then starting wearing hearing aids when i was about 3 half year old and also i have cochlear implant activation tomorrow so right now im going ignore Feralucca because he calling me troll and baiting he wasn't nice to me anyway the way he treated me my mother loves me no matter what don't you agree just like your mother loves like a son she brought you on this planet and loves you dearly same as your sisters or brothers depends if they care or not so i love my sisters i don't have any brothers lol so they are very proud of me getting cochlear implant and also my oldest sister had daughter with 12 year old with HFA shes really smart she's understand me and she have very high IQ shes gifted and she goes school also goes university for test see she can do it so im very proud of her also she told me that at schools is frustrating for being Aspie i totally agree with her so because they don't understand her and they picking on her and that happens to me as well that causing me Anxiety Disorder my aunty told me i am sensible and i hope you sensible as well :)

sorry i'm apologise i wasn't happy last night because i felt sad and anxious thinking about my self because my partner asking disagree that made me frustrated and cranky left alone for an hour anyway i feel better today and change subject lets talk about special interest i know all the capital cities around world i really good at art with house alone and other things i stop doing it i had a lot special interest since past i always love the storms all my life but the point is i didn't understand what going on that make me overwhelmed but now i don't so i'm used to it i hope you like weather or something like that i have my weather station my back yard with readings software on my computer i know i can sense there is something wrong with it i know problem solving and i had to taken down and clean it from webs spiders and fix etc. so i won competition art when i was about 10 they gave me map puzzle and they take a picture i didnt like that when they take a picture because i dont them i was very shy at school because that school everyone is teasing me bullied and calling me names negative to me i was very friendly i love to talk to people because they try to make fun of me i neally got into meltdown at school and all gone now i'm 26 year old its done im not there anymore im glad i hope that happens to you its not good at all

I used to know all the capitals too but so many changed names or capitals, and there are many new countries so my knowledge is a bit rusty. But I try to stay up to date and check my knowledge on Sporcle from time to time.

I'm not a weather boffin but find weather patterns interesting.

I also had a tough time at school but luckily people mature as they get older and some of the boys apologized for their treatment of me when I went to school reunion a few years ago, for the first time ever.

Will the cochlear implant enable you to hear more normally again?
