I've just read the history on Wikipedia. It was invented by an Islamic man by the name of Umayyad Caliph Umar II 800 years after the birth of Jesus. Poor Jews. They have gone through a lot over the past 1200 years.

So how did they get him to keep it on? I had SEVERE sensory issues at that age and you couldn't force me to wear something like that.

Around my area, most schools have adopted hi vis vest requirements for trips etc.

But this is something else. This is the marking of somebody as "different". I pride myself on not seeing difference, especially in this era, so this disgusts me.

It is amazing how many people who have very little understanding of autism in the UK education system, automatically assume that the autistic is the victim. I have seen many bad things in education but this is not one of them. I am still waiting for people to hear suggestions of how you would improve the situation for all concerned.

There are three posters here who have actual experience who have all explained the situation is far more complex that it looks.

Comparing teachers to Nazi's and other despicable groups is incredibly insulting not only to the schools but also to people who have actually suffered those real horrors. The hypocrisy of some people hear who are so quick to claim that autistics are victims of nasty regimes and then attached horrific labels to innocent people without knowing anything about the actual situation.
