Geographically confused-is it autism too?

I used to live in rural Wales and even after 3 years living in a small town I didn't know the way to all the local villages that were in a 3-4 mile radius. When people asked me directions I didn't have a clue.

Probably it is easier in bigger towns and cities.

The routes in country places are more complicated because it's not always possible to travel simply east, north, south or west. Roads can be winding and make long detours to bypass farms, woods, fields, hills and mountains.
