Where do you live TW1ZTY ? Could you find any local groups to join? Just a non-standard group of people around your age who are autistic. You could learn together, going into town and stuff. You'll feel safer in a group and if you don't know where to go there's a chance someone else remembers :)

I live in the U.S. and I'm going to be moving back hometown in Georgia soon. It's a small rural town so I doubt they have anything like that. :(

I'm really close to the city of Tallahassee though so maybe I can find support like that there?

Yeah id definitely recommend looking into it. You could check for local groups on Facebook on Twitter too?
Could you try and learn the safe transport links yourself? Whenever I go somewhere new I get the route on my phone or a printed copy and tick the places off as we pass them. If you try a circular route first then if you miss your stop it'll just bring you back home
The more independence you get the more confident you will feel to try new things :)
