Personally If I was the writer I would of kept it a secret to the viewers about Linda's intentions but she revealed it to Shirley episodes ago.
I can't believe I'm talking about Eastenders

I don't really watch it , I'm on my PC when it's on and it's impossible to blank it out , my brain takes it all in

I'm really dense then, I knew she had 'a plan' but wasn't sure what it was. I assumed that was why she had her bra on under a skimpy dress/nightie like that (which would have been more convincing without a bra), to hide the mic in rather than in a hair clip.
Yeah I'm not one for sexism but when I did media studies at school, it said 80% of soap viewers are female. Which is why unbelievable relationships like Sharon and Keanu bother me less than equally unbelievable ones like Peter and Tina/Chesney and Katy on Corrie... least they know their audience (not all of us are fat or middle aged but most are female and most people are straight). My stepdad pretends to watch Corrie then makes annoying comments all the way through.
There's a culture with it too. I 'shouldn't' watch EastEnders because we're a Corrie watching family and I know families where it's reversed and there's a north-south divide on that.
